Oyo is an Indian hotel chain - of course it will suffer. I get the allure of the sky is falling but aren’t we missing just how privileged we are having an office job that easily can be done remotely?

The dot com bust and 9/11 is a good example of the opposite. If you were in real estate around then there was no recession at all.

Why do you guys assume that this crisis will hit software development? As far as I can see software development will be one of the fields least hit, possibly even benifiting, by the fallout of the Corona-virus.

This is not malicious. This is simply easing up the installation process. If the files can be copied directly into applications then do so rather than trigger a password prompt. I would do the same.

Is there any technical merit to this ban? Why would forcing use of web version mitigate any concerns? (The concerns I have heard are lack of proper end-to-end encryption, servers in China and the possibility to join chatrooms by guessing a

"No worse than the flu." How could they feel safe saying such things? Because in most health scares historically this has been correct. That the danger had been wildly overestimated. And even now, it is not clear that "we&quo

There is also a group of politicians who are not too proud to promote these conspiracies as a way to rally their base.

If I were to design a video conference platform my focus would be usability, video quality, speed. Because those are the things that matters to end-users; if it gives up some security because there is a server somewhere that decrypts, conve

Beyond what is obvious (airlines, restaurants, hotels, retail etc are not contributing to the economy at the moment) I don’t think there will be a broader recession. The bailout packages may lead to higher interest rates due to government b

You don't build wealth by saving. You do it by investing using leverage. The system subsidises debt and risk-taking (within limits) by inflation and the structure of the tax system. You need to let go of the idea that it is immoral. Bu

So if the mortality rate of the decease is what it is in Germany or Korea - about 0.5% but the number of dead is 4x the official 10.000. Then about 8 mio - ca 15% - of Italy’s population has had it. Is that really correct?
