Good! Obviously, Ukraine cannot became a member before the war is finished, then it has dealt with its corruption and stabilized economy. But it's good that they are given green signal.

This will be a big change in policy. I suspect that it is related to current war in Ukraine. Could be that finally Germany has seen the true face of Putin? I speculate but in relation to other big announcements today by the EU (providing fi

I think that Putin has crossed the line and the EU will not give up sanctions easily. The EU just announced that will provide financing for fighter jets that will be given to Ukraine. The EU president also said that will accept Ukraine in t

Definitely we should avoid saying that we hate Russians. They are also victims of this war started by deranged leaders. In Russia it was not easy to be in opposition and even if many people supported Putin before, they didn't believe t

It is not about NATO membership. It is about Ukraine as an independent nation or not. And it doesn't seem likely that Russia will win on that front. There will be terrible loss of human lives and it will all be Putin's fault.

No, a peace agreement won't do anything you describe. It will only cause the same amount of deaths but from insurgency. There is no rational reason for Ukraine to agree to peace agreement now.

Ukrainians are not going to stay neutral. They will never submit. Sorry, but that is only Putin's fantasy and ultimately his downfall.

The war is already happening and Russia is going to win and Ukraine will lose. Stopping the war now by negotiations or promises is not going to change the outcome.

They already have that. The war is not about that. Russia winning this war will not mean peace and stability, free of foreign control to Ukrainians.

NATO is a red herring. Of course, Ukrainians want protection from Russia but NATO is just the means, not the goal by itself. It makes all sense for Ukraine to join NATO just like the Baltic countries did. There would be no war if Ukraine wa

What does it mean to win a war? Russia can conquer a Ukrainian army but people simply won't accept a Russian government that easily. A genocide-like repressions, similar to golodamor, will be required. It can be averted or the world ca

No, it will not work because too many Ukrainians will continue fighting against Russians regardless what Zelensky says right now. He might be even killed by Russians any moment now.
