In my experience, when it comes to market ideology and taxes, people don't argue from empathy, they argue from the pocketbook. In this case, they're arguing from _someone else's_ pocketbook. And it's not the dairy farmer

I think we could do a better job opening markets to products that we don't have here, like cheeses from around the world. I do hate when people use others as pawns in their arguments though. Are you a single mother unable to afford mil

Interesting insight. But saying "all games are clones," and using that as justification to take an indie studio's idea doesn't come across very well. Yes, a lot of the games but studio's churn out are all very simil

There are a lot of companies on this list who list homework. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a selling point or not, maybe for some candidates. At PlanGrid, we basically stopped giving homework because it wasn't respecting

Except that's not how software works anymore. Everything is moving to long-term SaaS and subscription. Production never ends until the lights turn off.

Maybe i'm in an a/b pool, but uber charges me if I make them wait longer than 2 minutes. So yes, they are being paid. And even so, it wouldn't be so much of a concern if uber just paid drivers fairly.

if someone offered me 'contractor-under-evaluation' employment, I'd likely laugh in their face. in the US (where I work) or in the NL (where you work), my employment is contingent on a visa, which is just way too much effort

My understanding is that the headphone jack actually occupies a lot of space. If you have opened up a phone before, it is evident that all internal space is _very_ well accounted for, so removing a headphone jack is actually a very tangible

FWIW, it took me a year and a half to establish a friendgroup in SF, and I didn't find it by meetsups or recreation, just by pure happenchance of finding someone who WILL reply to your texts, and welcome you into their friendgroup. I a

Rent control, at least in San Francisco, applies to buildings/units of a certain type. It is not given to people or applied for. You get it automatically if you live in a unit that qualifies. So it is a right for all... just live in a

In San Francisco, this problem was "solved," by not subjecting new development to rent control.

iPhones already don't get full updates. They get progressively trimmed updates as time goes on. Stock android does a similar thing. If you get a Pixel, you get 2 years of OS updates (my Pixel from 2016 is running the latest Android), a

your salary numbers seem a little off, and, at least in sf rent numbers are not the same. compare new 1bdrm apts between sf and yvr and you'll see. amazon/microsoft just regularly employs people in YVR, not just for L1 purposes. t
