I didn't know Quantcast operated an ad network. Interesting. In quantitative terms, how accurate is your inference based data? On a different note, I have mixed feelings about exchanges cus I feel they overly commoditize inventory. Whilst t

We get a lot of enquiries about that so yes, it's definitely going to be available shortly. We'll probably start off with an index because that's easier to do considering that each social network/dating site/news portal integrates their dat

A third-party network that sites like these could easily integrate into would mean more money for the sites, more relevant ads for the end users and an alternative to Facebook Ads I couldn't agree more. Trafficspaces already provides it.

If you are to redo it all over, I sure hope you won't reinvent the custom ad solution bit again. You can thank the plethora of open RESTful APIs for that :) I've just finished implementing the Trafficspaces ad server API and oh boy does i

Bootstrapped from day 1, I'm pleased to say Trafficspaces ( http://www.trafficspaces.com ) is now profitable enough to sustain operations without requiring additional capital. I've learned five lessons. 1. Charge from day 1 2. Focus on busi

I'm surprised the author didn't talk about using inbound marketing techniques such as articles, infographics, whitepapers, ebooks etc I've also got mixed feelings about "retargeting". On one hand, it's great because it keeps your brand omni

I'm not a big fan of the 30 day trial because I think it adds extra friction to the signup process. Especially when a credit card is required. Isn't it better to offer an unlimited, resource constrained plan? Note: you can still let them us

One way to deal with the "stale data" problem is to prune old users from the system, but many people will be understandably dissatisfied with this, and it is not recommended. I don't think you should worry too much about this. Someone who

That's what we are currently doing now. I was referring to cases where the account holder wants to use an custom domain name e.g. ads.mywebsite.com , instead of the generic mywebsite.mysaasprovider.com . In that case, we'll need to host t

Feedback Roulette is already doing great work in this area. You review random sites, get karma points then your site gets reviewed by other users in proportion to your karma. Brilliant. Symbiosis at its best http://feedbackroulette.com/

The main problem will be with SaaS apps that allow custom domains names (i.e. mywebsite.com instead of mywebsite.mysaasprovider.com ). I made an early decision to enable SSL everywhere in Trafficspaces with the obvious downside being tha

Get the one esoteric developer to develop a layer of indirection (or API) for the other two developers to work with. That way, you may be able to utilise all your developers fully. As the saying goes "all problems in tech can be solved by a

You should set your prices based on the value that you are delivering to your customers and not based on how much it costs you to deliver. To find out the perceived value, you need to get out and talk to customers.

Two issues: 1. There is no quantifiable data to backup the assertions. Does anyone have A/B test data to back any of the author's assumptions? 2. There is no discussion on how to structure pricing that scales on a specific metric e.g. users
