Even if your domain "theplayersbay.com" represents an online auction site, I fail to see how it can be seen as intrinsically associated with eBay. It's like Microsoft trying to prevent all software compnies from using the "soft" suffix or t

I think @oothenigerian's point is that downvoting comments simply because they express a contrarian view is bad form. It requires a certain level of maturity, introspection, humility and openness to not simply tag opposing views as pointl

I respectfully disagree. Mike made some serious insinuation of improper behaviour that was targeted at the super angels i.e Dave, Ron et al Dave has every right to discredit it. Especially when Arrington wasn't a participant and Dave was.

There seems to be a severe case of group think on HN today. Why are so many people raining on Dave? The points he makes seem to make a lot of sense. I'm pretty sure that an agenda that will attract the smartest angel investors for a meeting

Well said. This morale of this story is in line with an old adage - Nothing goes for nothing. When you don't pay for a service, you shouldn't expect anything in return. A guarantee of perpetual free access has to be paid for somehow and if

Think about it this way, if you can segment your traffic into valuable niches (e.g females, 18-30 in NYC, who are searching for shoes), you can sell your traffic at a far higher CPM. That's where Trafficspaces excels - ad targeting. All imp
