I like to call this "hiring for potential" where you try to hire people that may not have the track record but have a lot of potential to do great work.

That is completely true, but the product is actually very cool. I wish there was a database agnostic version of the product as it is such a great concept for many business apps.

Oracle is a decent product with all the features that you could want if you are an Enterprise and in addition they have the support for all that. Postgres has most if not all of them at this point, but if you want support you have to pick f

We don't even have to build up that much to add a lot more housing. If San Francisco was the density of Paris, it would have over twice as many people and most of Paris has 5-7 story buildings tops.

The Army has a manual on leadership that is really quite good. There are obviously parts that are not applicable but much of it is very useful. https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/ARN20039-ADP_6-...

It's because we see construction in a concentrated area where it is allowed, but then there are VAST areas off limits to anything but building a bigger house.

While Crypto is certainly a contributor to demand, I think a large part of the problem is related to a demand spike similar to the 'toilet paper shortage', where companies try to stockpile because they hear there will be a shortag

My energy provider already allows a separate EV charging meter that charges a reduced rate if you charge at night. I suspect they are not alone in this.

Over the road trucks often have speed governors, some companies limit their trucks to 60 mph because it saves a lot of fuel and leads to a much (50%) lower risk of collisions.

I'm not sure how the cars know the speed limit. Maybe someone else knows? My guess is combo of GPS/camera to position correctly on road and the lookup of known speed limit data. Perhaps it reads signs though?
