I just moved to a 3x bigger apartment for a 50% rent increase. Not everyone is wanting to move out, many people here seem to be trading places to improve their quality of life, leveraging the lower rents and higher availability. The city is

I wish that we collectively had become more political in the past decade and stopped being apolitical cogwheels of machines that have, ultimately, used to undermine democracy. We all bear responsibility to what happens to this world, and we

Having a child is not in the same league as buying a Tesla. That Tesla won’t be a contributing member of society and pay taxes when you retire. Yes it is a decision. Sometimes selfish, most often foolish, but in all cases needed. And all be

It is complicated, I agree. Tax cuts don't really make that much of a difference at the end of the day. Loss of job promotions, inability to take the same financial risks, childcare, education, lack of downtime, etc, all I think have a

How much of this issue is related to having a part of the population think that people having children is solely a private question? "You had children, why should I bear your burden!" If none of us had children there would d be no

I have been using it professionally since the first Conj and I still do. We have a ton of Clojure code where I work. I still love it.

The premise is interesting: > It is time for economists to “eat their own dog food.” Cost-benefit analysis is the only way to answer the question, “has the economics profession done more harm than good?”

I believe the OP is talking about Spain in general when she/he writes "Freedom of expression has not being limited in Spain in any way or form, not at all.", wouldn't you agree?

Absolutely. Those are not referendums, and the results are not more valid than a survey, if not worse. I was responding to the OP's statement: > We must remember that Catalonia has already held two legal referendums, where the res

I think you might not know much about Spanish history. The Catalan movement has existed for at least over a century. We had revolts quashed, we had our language forbidden, we had forced economic depression, presidents executed, all since ea

Those weren't referendums. The Spanish law doesn't allow independence referendums, that's why the Spanish courts handed a 100 year sentence on the Catalan politicians that allowed one. They were consultations with no tied out

A lot of Catalans were expecting exactly this. The Spanish tribunals are highly politicized and it's an area where there wasn't much reform after Franco died of old age. My parents and other family members that grew under Franco w
