Catalina is broken in many ways. This complain and Remote Access in (so I can SSH to my $4k MacBook) disables itself anytime the computer is restarted. But more importantly, I’ve still not found a Thunderbolt Display that doesn’t routinely

Eh.. there won’t be. But it’s not because of some altruistic motivations, it’s bad PR and the sheer numbers of lost customers would out weight the benefit of terminating for non-pay.

I disagree, when you’ve got 4 kids and both arms full of groceries, when the doors open automatically or even unlock on their own it’s a godsend. I’d even say it’s probably saved some lives as the kids race to get in and out of the parking

Is there a benefit to doing this over something like Cloudron(1)? I see this being for people that just want things to work without much of the effort to make it so. If that’s the case, a simple web UI that treats all the little solutions a

Haha. Maybe not 20 years... though you are right. My dad was pissed when he had to have his boat and camper trailers lifted so they rode level on his new F350. The same thing all the neighbor farmers did too when they replaced their trucks

It’s just not made with that in mind as an important detail. That’s all I was saying at the start. I’m not the target audience. I sad though. Was hoping I would be.

I did in another comment in regards to goose necks. The bed is where it’s at for practical truck use outside urban areas. This design ruins a lot of obvious uses in my opinion (reach ability, tie downs, latter racks, tool boxes, loading and

We’ll, a good example would be goose neck trailers won’t treat that bedside well. In fact, there’s many, many reasons beds are fairly standardized. Just one off the cuff supporting detail to my gut reaction. :)

This is a good perspective. Though I doubt there’s enough demand to warrant the heavy focus on that. This is a PR stunt, not some data driven product feature.

That is the ugliest, most impractical thing. Guess I’m not the target audience (I’m rural, farm country). What a let down.... I was really excited for this too. I don’t think I’ve ever in my life heard anyone with truck say: “Man, it’s amaz

He’s lead on the security team, not blanket UI.com from what I know. Also met him when he was working on the PFSense stuff and spent a few days with him and his team in Austin TX in 2014. I agree, great person and I still have faith in him;

I didn’t see this response, apologies. It seems you keep referencing: marginal cost == value. That’s very untrue. Indeed marginal cost is a factor in value, but is most certainly not directly relational. Simply put, value is ascertained by

Sure to both, but it won’t stand up for long I would think. Obviously completely dependent on your usage, but it seems like these outages could potentially last for a long time (weeks even?)... Power walls are expensive. You may be better o

Not trying to be rude: I’m not sure you really know what “marginal cost” means and it’s relation to a product’s economic impact. Twice, so far, you’ve used it here in the wrong context.

I’m specifically referencing street lamps that are being prototyped and shown off at conferences with embedded 5G RF chips in them. Anything to aid in power conservation is something I’d go for and not mock. Maybe needs some improvement as

So far, no. Though, I haven’t made much of an effort to seek it out. I help run an ISP with a WISP department, so we get to play with RF from 600 MHz to 84 GHz a lot. I have yet to see any “tech” article stop the bullshit and reference the

I just skimmed this, but it seems to be yet another marketing piece covered in technical jargon to tell a “world changing” story. It does not, however, say anything about 5G coverage differences from 4G, how the physical infrastructure is d

Do you have any reading (books, blogs, etc) on this concept of reactive vs reflective thinking? I don't think I've ever seen it described this way and it nails a verbal description to something I've desperately tried to descr

Well, I don’t have any books or blogs, but I can list a few things I’ve learned raising 4 toddlers in the last 6 years: 1. Don’t be over protective. It’s hard not to be. But you’ll need to remember that you’re their security blanket, not th

This comment right here is potentially your kryptonite. Technically, if this is the case, then Jim owns the development IP personally and would then be “contributing” it to the company as a member/investor. The business org itself is v

I would agree with the sentiment about Forums. I owe a lot of my younger development years to groups of people on niche forums. They can harbor a lot of negativity sometime, but I found that the real toxic ones tended to destroy themselves

An MVP, and the use of the acronym in SV culture, is largely an intentionally mislabeled theory that conveniently coattails a well marketed buzzword. What is actually meant here, is build a minimum viable presentation. It doesn’t have to be
