An MVP, and the use of the acronym in SV culture, is largely an intentionally mislabeled theory that conveniently coattails a well marketed buzzword. What is actually meant here, is build a minimum viable presentation. It doesn’t have to be a “product”, it’s something that adequately demonstrates your idea enough to garner quantitative validation from your target customer. Maybe that’s a landing page, maybe it’s a video. What it’s not, is months of time and money sunk into creating comprehensive function before you’ve validated value in that function.
