This whole model is such an obvious failure it’s shocking it ever got off the ground. Leaving the easy business reasons aside, I was in Denver and the amount of these scooters littered around the city pissed me off. They where everywhere. I

So by that logic, if I sold you a car and you abandoned it in the middle of a busy freeway, it would then be my fault? I’m not on the side of big business, ever really. But this is insane logic (today it’s all to common too). The PEOPLE doi

I found these guys during my last stint of consulting/freelancing before building another startup: 17hats.com I really liked it and my wife uses still today for high end cakes and stuff she does. I’ve also gotten quite of few of my bud

This is one of those things that HN may not be great at overall. Most answers here are brainy: “read this book” or “follow these principles” type suggestions, but this is really something that isn’t solved by reading about it. Don’t get me

I know these types of comments are frowned upon on HN, but this made me LOL. Nicely done.

I’ve run a personal instance of this for 10+ years. Plainly, it’s too complicated for 90% of people; which is fine. Let BitTorrent own the show and attention from everyone. Both of which would destroy my automated luxury.

Unrelated aside: This might be the most creatively concise form of critical communication to a comment I’ve ever seen on HN. Nice job.

Has anyone seen startups like this: https://www.proximity.space Seems like maybe a more realistic approach that provides a way for traditional real estate to become coworking spaces.

While you are right in practice, your reasons are wrong. It’s not because these companies can’t afford it, as mentioned it’s actually cheaper. The part you referenced, about forced upgrading, is often more costly than simply having a subscr

Wow that is the most egregious, sensationalized headline I’ve ever seen. It might as well just be plain dishonest.

TouchID and FaceID where never about security in the first place. They’re about convenience. Nothing more. You want security, turn off the convenience features, set a pass phrase and plead the 5th. FaceID and TouchID is like me writing my h

I don’t think this deserves to be down voted. It’s a valid perspective I think shared among those that are, perhaps, removed from legal specificities and their make-up. I also think this point resonates fairly well in smaller courts (read a

HN, for me, is all about the comments. I’m always shopping for new perspectives or opinions that I haven’t seen yet that maybe give me a clue on how to do things better. People tend to give a lot of perspective in-between the words they’re
