A few months ago, I found out I had an AWS account from college that was racking up $0.50/month in charges. After 40 months, I finally got an email from AWS warning me to pay the $20 or they'd just close my account. I paid it, and

I noticed One Medical is actually already a publicly traded company under ONEM. I'd think this is quite a bit different, than if Amazon bought a nonprofit hospital/health system like Sutter Health, or Allegheny Health Network, or

Keep in mind that dogfooding is one thing, and actually making improvements based on it is another. In plain English, they still might not fix anything they find.

+1. Without citing sources, I will also say I think hospital admins, directors, execs, etc. are constantly looking for ways to cut costs, while the top execs take home millions in pay. Even in nonprofits that haven't been touched by pr

I still play games on Flashpoint. Hell, I speedrun and showcase games in Flashpoint during some regular events with my other friends playing ""real"" games. It's not the best UI, but you do have an easy search funct

If it's legal and Microsoft is ok with it, I guess I'm happy it exists! When I was a kid I remember poring over all kinds of stuff to make my games run well on the family PC. CCleaner, Disk Cleaner, Disk Defragmenter, turning off

Dunno if they still do this, but years ago when I created one email account per service I used (github/jobs/online orders), I didn't have to add a phone number or other 2fa to the Outlook addresses themselves inside Outlook,

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sure there might be some guy going "but, but, it depends on your team! I've never seen this" --but Amazon has a large variety of bitter ex-employees and horror stories.

IBM I believe kept a research group around for 2 years and let them work on whatever they wanted. Results? Basically nothing. So they disbanded the group.

Listen, I love RLM, but I came here to ask why this is on the front page. It's a strange feeling to see a site I used to associate with tech (and startups), now have so many irrelevant posts. Would categories/subreddits help this

Thanks for the article, looks like that one is from 2016. I'll share another article I found with a quick search -- "Saturated fat is more metabolically harmful for the human liver than unsaturated fat or simple sugars" : ht

No comments on saturated fat vs liver disease (ie fatty liver) though. The common wisdom, I believe, is that you want to avoid sat-fat if you have fatty liver disease. That may not be a killer like cvd, but it is a big deal too.

That makes sense. Although now I'm curious what the average thief does with a device these days... I wonder if they even know how to get past a login screen, get your info and sell it? Or they just break it down for parts/pawn it

I see 2 paths to forgiving yourself. You can either use a valid reason that proves your gaming experience was truly valuable (maybe even more important than staring at OS and driver docs for 20 years), which means you stop beating yourself

Out of curiosity, do you have any tools/processes to avoid a situation like putting real secrets in new docs? Such as this popular story from 2017 [0]. And is there a way to automate publishing a test secret(s) to a doc and also send i

When I see highly upvoted users, I tend to recognize a lot of them as people posting wild and unfounded speculation, drama, conspiracy theories, etc. I'm not terribly interested in those views.

Congrats on your weight loss, 40 lbs is nothing to write off in my book. I do have a picture of myself from about 300 lbs, and I did look much chubbier then. I guess I mean to say that my overall shape is still along the same pattern -- lar
