We have a simple way of doing this for our one office of about 70 people. A message to slack the day before asking if you’ll be at the office the next fag and a hand up emoji if you’re going to be there. The main problem with this is people

Can you explain why this is the case? Why would it take a couple of cycles for everything to return to normal if it's just a straight battery swap?

Is there any information on how the FBI captured the messages? It says they caught millions. I'm surprised large criminal networks nowadays don't have grey hats on tap to be able to analyse the devices they use, the packets they s

What I want is tab groups by concept or activity. Let’s say I’m looking for info on a new grill I’d start a new tab session and give it a quick name of ”grill” and it’d group all tabs and history under that. I could expand and collapse it a

Could we take a step back from the scepticism and acknowledge that maybe this is a sign of a company that is trying to change. Unlike google which actively chose to be evil, maybe this a sign of change at Amazon leadership - realising the d

Same approach for Samsung TVs. In fact nextdns has an option for Samsung ads explicitly so just enable that and point the TVs DNS to that. I presume this could be added to nextdns too with a custom url block.

at least Sky in the UK explicitly block you from using airplay when the app is running. They detect airplay in use and overlay a gray box on the content. I’ve seen no work around for this and suspect it’s a sign of things to come for other

It doesn't really matter what's ethical and not, or what the site's wish - what matters is what the law says [1]. I don't want my neighbours smoking on the balcony below me, as I can smell their smoke but the law doesn&#

Big no for me if styles are injected as inline styles. As a developer I don't want to work with that generated code. At the very least look at using styled components or generate accompanying css module file.

That's because most managers don't do due diligence and proper checks on the remote teams. I've worked with teams from Poland & Romania that have been far more productive & professional than some of my colleagues he

I don't agree. And you're looking at this from a very anglo-centric point of view. This will open doors for french-speaking Africans to work for French companies. For Brazilians working for Portugal etc. I've worked with skil

Listen, I am completely on board with giving employees the right to choose the remote situation - but don't be surprised when you're competing against people from all over the globe, who will probably take a lower salary than you,

Apple made 72.3B revenue from app sales in 2020. This is not an insignificant amount of money, regardless of where it stands next to their hardware sales. Furthemore, if people are using smartphones less maybe they'll realise they don&

I love this, but do we really think that Apple also isn't using engagement with your phone as an internal success metric? If people use apps less often, they are probably using less apps. If people use less apps, Apple's revenue d

I tried using this for a few days. I found it incredibly frustrating, partially because the subtitles in Finnish were so dumbed down from the actual English-language dialogue.

This was bizarre. Neither the announcement or the video really said what has changed. I’d rather they focus on performance. It’s third in the list behind Chrome and Safari on my MacBook. I use it only for Jira and Gitlab at work with about

Even if that were the case, they need to be segregated, very clearly from normal streams. I don't want to see women or men in minimal close when casually browsing in a public place.

This is the fundamental part of the problem. People are acting as if these streams are not sexualised and SFW.

Because there are other places for that. Many people browse twitch at work (let’s not debate that) and don’t want to see that kind of content. Or on machines visible at home around other family members. These women have every right to do as

I've worked at places where people have exported draw.io as PNG/PDF on internal wikis for diagrams. But what happens when you want to change it? You then have to track down the people who made them, and get access yourself - or fi

This hasn't really worked for real-life kidnap/ransom, which has probably been done since the dawn of civilisation. I don't see why it would change now.

I don't think this will set any precedent. Unlike a standard kidnapping and ransom, where there is a huge amount at stake for the kidnapper - there is little consequence for ransomware authors and those who hold businesses hostage. The

Yep. I purchased some new tablets yesterday (I'd say the most popular ones available) and they were abou 0.12c (€) per tablet. So assuming usage every day of the year (not uncommon in our household) that's €43.80 a year.
