After spending so much time messing around in draw.io and other crappy tools, I also settled on using PlantUML recently. Easy to commit to VCS, and can easily be shared.

I think all of us who studied CS (at least over 10 years ago, no idea what's being taught now) hated UML. That said, there have been plenty of times where I have used certain kinds of UML. For example, sequence diagrams [1] are a great

This is nonsense. There is absolutely no chance in hell this will get past privacy laws, at least in Europe. You would have to specifically opt-in.

Try signing up to gitlab and then signing in. It’s completely broke with TOR because of cloudflares crappy redirect and nobody has done anything about it. The captcha also breaks after you spend about thirty mins trying to find a relay whic

localStorage is fairly reliable. Far better than the login requirement. Maybe just make it clear to the user that their settings may be lost if they don't login? i.e. login to "hard save"

This is fantastic. I have a box in the corner with no display attached and wasn’t able to RDP/VNC etc into it as there was no real display. I had mixed results with an abandoned virtual display package and ended up purchasing a tiny HD

This is not the case with Indian food. But the main thing with this question is there is a huge difference when it comes to spoon sizes with table and tea spoon. So what is a spoonful.

I'm European. There is no issue here in what a teaspoon or a tablespoon is. A tablespoon is three times the size of a teaspoon and I have dedicate measuring spoons for each size. The issue is what a "spoonful" constitutes. Ch

On this subject, can an American please tell me what a spoonful is? There is a great video series on youtube, with his recipes online, but all measurements are spoonful: https://www.ethanchlebowski.com/cooking-techniques-rec

I think this comment undervalues the quality of engineering that Evan has put into esbuild. It’s not only quick because it’s written in golang, but also due to the decisions taken in architecture and an opinionated tool that does mainly one

I’m genuinely surprised you trust the intentions of an insurance company over a nationalised health system. Insurance companies are famous for weasling their way out of claims. Maybe you can elaborate a bit more on this.

by deanclatworthy 6y ago
I think the key difference here is that you are ultimately at the behest of your insurance company. I don’t like the idea of insurers making decisions over my health. I’d take the British NHS over US system any day as I know ultimately if I

Finland. Never seen or heard of notice period on a "normal" rental less than 6 months. Tenant's usually can give 1 month notice. Landlord 6 months.

You have similar anxieties with renting. "When will my landlord give me my 6 month notice?" Depending on your location and who you are finding an apartment for rent can't be easier. e.g. in Finland most landlords won't p

I don't think you can compare Windows Vs Mac when it comes to FF. There have been countless complaints about FF mac performance over the years - even after they supposedly fixed it all. 15 FF tabs open currently: https://ibb

WindowServer is more than just chrome. I don't doubt chrome is eating the resources on my machine, but it's not as simple as this site makes out.
