I'd love to see it in action because I was considering doing the same thing for 14gears, especially if we make it into the ycombinator session after the interview in a few weeks. I've often wondered about the nuts and bolts of YC and it doe

I was thinking the same thing, except with Evernote - I started using it a few weeks ago and have already built up a sizable switching cost. Maybe it'd help to hear more about import options as well as competitive differences?

One nitpick on an otherwise fabulous article - Mark links to the HTML5 enabling script in order to add IE support but I don't see any reason not to use Modernizr instead, since you'll get CSS3 support as well. http://www.modernizr.com/

One thing I'm curious about - I don't see user research on the list, the closest ones to it are the customer support and maybe the market research as well. Does your designer cofounder run usability tests? Or do you all take the 37signals a

You can be separated by distance and still easily use paper to quickly iterate through ideas. 37signals themselves do this - they're geographically distributed yet use Sharpies to think through rough interface ideas: http://37signals.com/s
