Blatant xenophobia lol. Jesus Christ the state of this world. Immigrants go through a significantly higher barrier of entry and background checking than your average citizen. The average citizen who is probably reading rhetoric like yours a

This legislation already exists in other countries. For example Swiss engineers have very specific on call requirements, and their salaries aren’t really less than Americans.

Yeah that is fair. And I’d put that under paging someone who is already on another on call shift. What I meant was like, paging a subject matter expert on your own team.

I really disagree with involve other people. This implies that everyone is effectively on call 24/7. You have a primary and secondary. No one else should be paged unless they’re on the rotation at that time.

Yes. That is abusive. Also generally if you’re ever asking if something is abusive, the answer is usually yes.

I’ll go as far as saying we need legislation to cover this. I do not like on call. I don’t actually mind the work but I don’t like the entitlement companies have towards it.

We have regressed so far since 2020 imo. 2020 showed that we can have remote work as the primary method of work for a vast majority of jobs. The government could’ve mandated that if your company’s work could be done remotely, remote work ha

IMO. You’re brainwashed for thinking technology is going to save us from this tbh. Climate already saw a lot of improvements during the 2020 lockdowns.

I’m not talking about China. China has well made internal alternatives to most western services. Iran does not.

Disagree on this take. Blocking services does have an economic impact. This alongside people smuggling in starlink is making censorship useless.

So many of these restrictions feels arbitrary. Not supporting comments? Why? Assuming UTC for tz is not weird and cron users expect it, I guess why even support this specific syntax if the crons need to be edited to fit how this code expect

Get your company to pay for on call. This is extremely important imo. It sets a positive culture and makes people want to do oncall rather than hate and dread it.

Because, surprisingly, terrorists are also people who live around others who aren’t terrorists. A kid died in these attacks and hundreds of other random civilians have had life altering injuries because of it.
