How would you handle a scenario where an answer is posted (which could arguably be acceptable) but the poster doesn't acknowledge it as accepted? Or realizes a few hours later that for a complex enough problem it was not a sufficient a

Simple data-scraping: I want grab the items in page and export them in a structured way (JSON, CSV). It should have an intuitive way to handle infinite scrolling or pagination. It should be simple enough so that I don't have to open an

At some point Facebook was recommending me friend-suggestions just because we were using the same wifi. So I'm guessing they're digging deep into that relationship tree.

Depends on how the marketing people defined their funnels. Maybe they thought that people who showed interest but then left the app, are more likely to come back if they saw it later elsewhere on the web. But at this point it is just specul

Could be much simpler: the service app uses Facebook marketing tools at some point (in the SDK or server-side) for ads and retargeting. So when you opened it you showed some intent that was deemed interesting enough.

Are you placing the feedback right after key interactions, or is it just a random link in the footer or something like intercom that could get blocked by ad-blockers?

Mark wants to be able to sell apps and ads on his end-to-end controlled platform, that is it. He missed the boat on browsers and smartphones, so he is aiming for total monopoly of what he believes is the next-big-thing™.

Out of school, I worked in consulting for 2-3 years and was in a similar situation, here is what I learned: - The best just leave, they don't negotiate. When negotiating, management will dangle a carrot 6-9 months away at the next &quo

As a site administrator you can do some rules to allow for a leaner treatment of Tor (I think it is bundled as a country). this is unfortunately the reality of Tor, your exit node traffic is shared with (potentially) bad actors. and any age

You can easily tweak the manifest.json to grant the extension permissions on all urls. Give it a shot and see that it still falls behind and doesn't block much of the annoyances.

I don't know in terms of pricing. But I moved a couple of free heroku apps to fly.io and it was pretty smooth. They provide a migration guide specific to people moving out of heroku.

Adblocking is the tip of the iceburg. Proxying, dev-tools that manipulate CORS, rule-based cosmetic filters etc... will also be impacted. The other huge change that most people don't know about, is the move from a persistent background

It is hard to over-state the impact that MV3 will have on the current extension landscape! This move is a blatant attack from Google on power-users, always in the name of "security" and performance.

I think uBlock Origin providing a manifest-v3 compatible extension would be a net negative for the community. As it will help more people accept the status-quo and accept a mediocre state of ad blocking, instead of switching to Firefox
