This isn't a "public directory", it's a collection of links of interest to Hackers. I wouldn't call your service Hacker News material.

I wouldn't go with anyone who spammed their link across the web. That aside, the standard of mark-up on their own site is not great (div bloat/divs instead of list to mark-up navigation; strong in h1 instead of custom styles through stylesh

I would have also turned you down (pregnant woman, suddenly paranoid for the safety of my pending sproglet). However, I would have done so with kind words and a smile - and I would have spent the rest of the day thinking what a nice chap yo

I wasn't necessarily referring to posts when referring to "bad" - I've seen/experienced behaviour from HN members outside of here that negatively impacts my opinion of them. Nonetheless, I was just making the point that it's not just about

For every username I recognise for previous insightful comments, I also recognise one for something 'bad'. Although I don't vote according to this, it does at least show me that positive bias is not the only potential 'worry' in a points-b

The title of the article is barely related to this pro-vegetarian/vegan propaganda.

My main PC/laptop is always called BOOBIES. People tend to find it an amusing talking point.

I was disheartened to read some of the tripe published in the comments on the Telegraph website copy of the apology. Ridiculous how some people can twist anything into political agenda.

Congratulations :) I recommend this guy's baby diaries if you have the time: http://www.ironycentral.com/babymain.html I just found them through the linked blog entry, and they're hilarious.

I didn't necessarily agree with the petition (that is, don't necessarily see the point of posthumous apologies) but you did a fantastic job, jgrahamc. Congratulations on making this happen.

Alarm goes off at 7:22 (for some reason the snooze uses 8 min intervals - so if I'm tired I'll have 1 snooze until 7:30 otherwise I'm straight up). Pee, puke (morning sickness), shower, get dressed, breakfast. I don't have any problems gett

My biggest bugbear with 3.5 is that it can't seem to handle multiple username/password combinations on one site, even if the cookie info differs. That is, if I use the username "Jem" twice on one site with different passwords for each, one

Why was this voted down? I was fairly shocked too. I mean, I know we're in the minority at HN but not by this amount.

I did a search for a mail I was sure I had in gmail a few weeks ago, and it returned 0 results. I came to the conclusion that I'd simply deleted the mail. Now I'm wondering if it wasn't me at all.

My bank use a unique 12 digit number and a PIN I've chosen (and THEN my full name, address, etc). I don't have my account set up for telephone banking. I don't go on holidays, except perhaps local expeditions. Easy peasy to get home. Your f

I could give you my bank account number, name, phone number and email address and it would make no difference. My bank uses none of these things to identify me.

But the supposed outing happened over a month ago. I doubt he'd wait this long if that were the reason for his disappearance. I don't know the guy, and am not involved in the Ruby community. Nonetheless, that someone would call to make sure

You're taking it a bit too seriously - this is a well known quiz site that features other popular quizzes such as "How many Simpsons characters can you name?" Given that the answers (passwords) are things like "password", "qwerty" and "1234

I agreed with the post right up until the bit about "..unless you're Smashing Magazine". Smashing Magazine only gained their popularity by regurgitating other people's shit - they're no better than the rest.
