I think what Ubuntu wants to differentiate themselves with is their own Canonical stuff, at least on the server side (Charmed k8s, Juju, Snap) however I personally like that their installer is still much friendlier than others. One stupid e

Because it uses Node.js in the backend. MediaWiki is written in PHP, but it does not require you to have PHP running in the client to work. As much as we could argue about whether no-js support really matters or not in 2020, the fact remain

If you truly wish to avoid this kind of problems you should think about hosting your own platform rather than jumping to the next one. Just because the smaller players haven't done anything bad doesn't mean they wouldn't. Git

I as a developer asked for it. Always tried to develop UWP but Microsoft has made it the hardest possible to. SDKs for UWPs are many and each of them is someway incompatible with their other revision. There used to be at least 3/4 comp

I don't think there's anything wrong with erring on either side, but at least the appeal process should be better vetted. If you know your system is going to fail, which YouTube has so often it generates drama every month, at leas

Was hoping for a more lib/framework focused article. HTML5 has never been the easiest platform to develop games for. A game I love that's made in Impact/NW.js is CrossCode, which even leverages its Web-based nature by having

I've used Brave since March, and I'm really not impressed. For a browser that tries to be different, it's incredible how little consideration has been given to things that annoy users and that could probably be trivial to rem

I once went through the steps to ask help because the plugins repo didn't compile as it used a different minor version in the go. mod file. I was told it was my problem because I wanted to use gomod.

Props to Lemonade for fighting the claim. I just hope EU/German laws are as punishing as US ones when it comes to trademark abuse.

Honestly. I'm fine as long as sideloading 3rd party shops is not actively sabotaged. I tend to search stuff on fdroid first and Play store later, and that's something I just can't do on iOS.

Because for being such a minimalist editor, it requires something that a lot of hardware out there doesn't have and that often requires proprietary drivers.. even though it doesn't need it.

Bing is "Google Search but not Google and cheaper". The cheap bit is easy to understand, Google has APIs for GSearch, Translate etc but they are quite expensive. Microsoft on the other hands has much lower costs for services that
