So do I! I'm always disappointed that my Google Home isn't capable of acknowledging a "thank you". I feel like it should be possible for it to achieve something like this (with a "no problem" response) without

That comment is my personal favorite HN naysayer comment of all time: > you can already build such a system yourself quite trivially by getting an FTP account, mounting it locally with curlftpfs, and then using SVN or CVS on the mounted

I would think someone who has founded a company that failed would have learned quite a few worthwhile lessons to teach to up-and-coming startups, no?

The SDK part of the Ionic is what was built by the Pebble team, and it's a really pleasant-to-use SDK -- developing stuff is super easy to do. They've also actively courted all the former Pebble developers to port their apps over,

Every time I see this paper I'm always disappointed that there doesn't seem to exist a usable (open source or otherwise) implementation of it anywhere.

Oh I fully understand that. However, in the past, I would argue those versions actually added useful things, so there was a bit of a tradeoff to consider. High Sierra has essentially no enhancements whatsoever.

Honestly, it's the first Mac OS release I'd actively recommend avoiding upgrading to. It offers essentially no benefits over the prior release, and a whole lot of downsides. (Security issues notwithstanding, High Sierra also drops

I'd say both are likely. Those who are hopeless and desperate are much easier targets for propaganda.

And such a result it just goes to show how brainwashed they are. Nothing's more appealing than a scapegoat (liberals, "coastal elites", the EPA, Mexicans), when the biggest problem is yourself.

Completely agree! That's what I think the future of self-driving cars will be -- not so much "automatic Uber" but instead little busses that can automatically optimize their routes to get people where they need to go. This wo

Completely agree about Apple's 2-factor implementation being completely ridiculous. If you don't have an iPhone it gets even weirder -- I've had it pop up auth codes on the same laptop on which I'm logging into iCloud.
