It became awful around 2016. One of my interest areas is political and usually pretty controversial. I have a degree in the area and decades of practical experience. Reddit was one of the few places where I occasionally found people with si

What scientists? Scientists had said is okay to open. The State government said it's okay to open. Only some local dude didn't want to. And thank you for calling me an "asshole".

Simple, talk only about things the CCP approves. It's about time the West left China and focused on India. The Chinese society needs a generation or two to catch up politically, after three decades of insane economic and social changes

What is "anti social" about defending human rights against those who think they stand above them?

And large part of the population seems all too willing to just follow these local officials and blindly believe anything they say. And those who dare to challenge them get insulted.

So accessing a web site is illegal? I rarely see explicit "you are allowed to access the HTML files on this server" anywhere.

That's why VPNs exist.

You don't need UBI for that, just a healthy social welfare system, and a health insurance system that doesn't depend on the job.

That's illegal. You want me to opt-out in order to stop spamming me? Nope. I will never click a link in some spam mail I receive. Even if you claim that your service is "legitimate". If you want to be allowed to email me, you

Socializing is just as easily possible when working from home. Just meet for a coffee in Zoom or Skype or Whereby and "video chat" for an hour or so. Those are usually my most productive meetings.

No, it means that there's a way things are usually done, but if, in you situation, a different way works better, you are free to use it without having to fight the framework.

Not sure about the rules in the US out that country. But it's it really a crime to go to work? Especially some national law and state law seem to allow it. Just the county's burocrats seem to prohibit it.

It was the same in 2000 with anything internet, and then again some years later with Web 2.0. Simply switching to "scam mode" may sound good in a forum post, but you miss the interesting stuff too.

No, on the contrary. Germany has about 4 times as many ICU units as France, Italy or the UK. That's why we had so low fatality numbers, because hospitals never even got significantly above 50% capacity.

Isolation? I think the name "social distancing" isn't a good choice. It should be called physical distancing. Because socially, you can be as close as ever, just use video chat. Whereby, Zoom, Skype, etc. to hang out with gro

So how does a few weeks in banking compare to several decades in physics, battery tech, software development, rocket engineering? Why are a couple of weeks decades ago so important to you?

In reality, he graduated in physics. I never heard that "banker" story before, but a month long internship is hardly a career. He went on getting physics scholarships for UPenn and then Stanford.

Do you have a source? Because in Canada, he went to school and university, studying physics, and then got a scholarship for a master's at UPenn, and later for a PhD in Stanford. All was in physics.

How is it misleading? It's completely true. And, is Fb now a judge in the US who should decide these things? I don't think it's good to trying to justify what Fb is doing.
