I can guarantee you one thing, if you don’t try and complain about how only privileged people can do it, you DEFINITELY won’t get rich or be successful or whatever your metric is. If you try, you might fail, and you might fail because of th

See my comment above, but there could have been equalization events. The governments had three financial crises, in 99, 2008, and 2020 where it could have chosen not to intervene and save the rich. Yes it would have been hard on everyone, b

I would love to see a parallel universe where in 2008 no one is bailed out and bankers are either on the hook for the risks they took or actually are sent to prison. Taking it further back, what if the tech bubble of the 90s is allowed to c

I was looking for this answer and found it at the bottom downvoted. I wonder how many people actually know what Peterson says as opposed to what the NYT says about him. To sum it up: do what is at the limit of your competence and what you f

My personal take: There might well be ponzi schemes on top of the bitcoin infrastructure, but the technology behind bitcoin is not a ponzi scheme. It might well be that a lot of people are crazed over it and want to buy bitcoin and push up

Maybe you don’t see the social and communication value of seeing someone’s face, I do. Maybe you don’t live somewhere where the temperature is 30 degree Celsius plus often, at which point wearing a mask is a very different UX to colder weat

Studies from Israel so far have shown vaccinated people almost never infect others. So wearing a mask vaccinated is not about protecting others, at least not according to our current scientific studies

I agree, but as an indirect consequence it’s allowed highly paranoid people to be able to blame and outrage vent at others. Which isn’t exactly healthy.

This is what you get when things like mask wearing start to become more of a social display than a rational decision. Most of the actual evidence shows outdoor infection to be close to zero, unless you’re close up at a concert or bus stop.

Why not let the market take care of it? I think it will in the long run. We have CNN and Fox, because we want news and media through the lens of similar people politically? Why wouldn’t social media be the same in the long run?

It just depends on the extent of it and the scale. Piss enough people off enough, and they will want to move. I think we are close personally. It doesn’t take that much for a group of conservative people to move somewhere else if everyone i

Historical: Except in those cases most printed money went to banks, buying their bad loans. Which had already affected house prices by 2008, and only affected asset and commodity prices, which did rise in price since 2008. This time round y

In other news, the Bloomberg Agriculture Index (price of food) is hockey-sticking: https://twitter.com/KarelMercx/status/1387108408139161600 At the least, bitcoin is a possible way to protect against this, if you

It depends how quickly the mistake was made. Totalitarian states are not famous for admitting mistakes, in fact they hide them with all their tools. So I don't think your media hype story is a good explanation.

1. You can seek out a lender who specialises in higher risk loans 2. If there isn't one, you can start a lender that does that, since there is probably a business opportunity if noone is doing it. 3. You can convince friends and family
