I run into this problem all the time. I’ve gotten into the habit of bouncing all the individual tracks on a project I put down for a while; it’s not perfect, but at least I have something left if a plug-in breaks later.

More easily gamed, I'd think. Also, if you remove the curators (journals), then people looking for research in the first place (who are driving the ones arxiv stats) won't know where to look first.

I know this is likely to be an unpopular opinion here, but I'm not sure that websites ought to scale in the way we've been building them to. One of the biggest causes of frustration and concerns is that websites that are operated

I wouldn't think Hacker News would be in any trouble with this one. The link is to a noteworthy site, not to any infringing content; you'd have to take action and use a specific search term to find copyrighted content. And the imp

I want to add to what you're saying: a lot of resources for artists, from music hardware to video cameras to painting software, have massively inflated prices because paid creatives are paying for them. If you take a lot of the money o

You’re probably right, but the reason why isn’t because of anything Kodi developers did wrong. Film distributors refuse to allow DRM-free files to be transferred. So my Kodi has a mixture of ripped DVDs (illegal), ripped Blu-rays (illegal),

It’s worth noting Drum’s actual position on The Bell Curve: http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2017/05/charles-murray... TLDR: he thinks that there could be an genetic difference in racial IQ levels, but

As nyolfen mentioned, XMPP is just a competing, decentralized protocol for AIM-like chat. It has a similar feature set and works with most third-party AIM clients.

I still used AIM up until today. My friends and I just switched over to a private XMPP server, and we've been using Pidgin/Adium anyway, so it's not a huge change. AIM has been extremely reliable, I've been able to use i

Sorry for the late response. I get BDs from Netflix, not DVDs (when possible). And I'm already pushing my bandwidth to its limit at home, so it's much easier to get the BDs delivered. Also, for a lot of the films I want to see, I
