Idk, I really like the contrast against pure black on OLED screens. For some reason it infuriates me on LCD though.

I have 6: * 27” LCD x 4 * 1 iPad (maybe this is cheating a little) * 1 Laptop I’ve disabled the laptop though. The LCDs are in a 2x2 array all landscape. I use the iPad mostly for meetings.

I haven’t heard of rescinded offers so much but I’ve seen this happen in a different form: employees being hired into departments which were promptly shut down. I saw this happen as an intern at Microsoft when BlackBerry was shut down. I al

Agreed but while I drink and enjoy coffee, the equivalent caffeine from this drink somehow seems to pack more of a punch.

I worked on the Forza series for several years and I’m proud of that work. I’m glad to hear you are enjoying it and that it looks good on your TV. If you haven’t tried them already, I’d highly recommend the Forza Horizon games. A new one ju

Same. I have a sucralose energy drink every day after lunch. I generally don’t add sugar and buy low-sugar products. The joy this drink gives me sometimes feels like a drug trip. Shameless plug: https://www.alaninu.com/produ

This is a very charitable reading of the [dead] comments. In spite of that, I think I agree with your final point: “It is, of course, ludicrous on its face as traits such as race are in fact truly immutable, whereas a decision whether or no

I find the argument unconvincing. The phrase in the opening sentence, "pandemic of the unvaccinated" seems apt. As a vaccinated person I don't interpret it as, "we have problems because unvaccinated people are getting va

The fact that Edge lags behind in desktop browser share is absurd. Looking at some charts online it appears to have 1/5 the usage of Chrome. That’s crazy. 80% of people are finding, installing, and using Chrome when a default is provid

Seems like my worst nightmare. Smart TVs are already too smart for me I like to call them dumb TVs. I remember a cloud to butt browser extension [1], I feel like there should be a similar smart to dumb extension. [1] https://chro

I wonder if this includes sending slack messages or emails outside of work. I’ve personally never been _texted_ outside of work but I’ve received these other forms of communication. I’m also a US tech worker. Maybe texting outside work is m

I have a feeling this wouldn’t send anyone to jail in reality. What is the issue with the bill? It seems like people should be doing the appropriate accounting with large asset transfers. I imagine (but I’m not sure) there are similar repor

In Rec Room you can build games, environments, and events using an in-game NoCode tool called circuits: https://recroom.com/ Disclaimer: I work on circuits.

I actually find this fun. I worked in the UK for awhile and I mentioned that many Americans find British accents charming. I asked if they felt the same about American accents to which I heard, “No, they just sound monotone.”
