I've used uBlockOrigin in the past for YouTube ads, and it works well on a laptop. What's nice about Premium, if you use it on an iPad, is it lets you download videos, and let's you also play them in the background, etc. I d

US -> anywhere I've looked (or booked) in Europe is up from about $900 -> $1800 in May -> September. So for my personal flights, it's about 100% up. In talking with friends booking family trips, it sounds the same. Eve

It's already up over 25% in the last year anyway. Not sure why we're worring about long term. Anyone try booking a trip to Europe from US lately?

Haa...cyclocross is definitely gear intensive. I always enjoyed running becasue I could be ready in like 2 minutes vs going for a bike ride that involved at a minimum kitting up, pumping the tires, and more often than that for the type of r

Bird By Bird is required reading for aspiring writers in a lot of writing programs. I haven't read it in a long time, but in talking with some people recently, the advice has stood the test of time and is still highly recommended.

Right, but even with lagging birth rights, US is still growing Yoy. It's not growing at the 2%/year it was a few years ago, but it's still net positive.

What makes you think US Population is receding? By all census counts, we're still growing, a lot. Numbers for 2022 are something like 900K immigrants living in the U.S. became U.S. citizens. 2 Million more migrants came with about @ 1

I don't think an elevated salary at a FAANG implies over-qualified, though. I phone-screened someone from a FAANG, and they knew very little about non-proprietary technologies that we used on a day-to-day. Any of the big-branded commer

I also think they miss the point on AirBnb in that all those AirBnb's that have "brooklyn" style now is because it's a trend, and will need to be updated in 10 years for the next new trendy styling if they want to keep t

I have to find the article, but my understanding is 15% of all US residential real estate is bought by foreign buyers, and then combined with the 25% that's bought by investment firms, a total of around 40% of the US housing marking is

I'm willing a lot of these stories stem from covid times. I had to literally wait like 10 months for some high-end furniture to arrive. Was worth it in the end, but was pretty obvious early on what was out of the retailer hands regardi
