I'm not sure if you're being obtuse, but there are no equivalents to a setting a limit buy on SPY with Uber. You keep on saying "ask Uber", but there is no mechanism to actually set a price, which makes the rest of your

It's not that children are career killers, but rather taking significant amounts of time off is. It's also unclear if harming your career is even a bad thing to begin, considering the options given (e.g. Don't have children,

How do you ask or set the price you want to charge in the Uber app?

Buy a used electric smart car. Approximately $6000 to drive home. Maintenance will be near zero. Amount per mile will be less than any non-electric car. If your commute is less than 50 miles daily it's the way to go.

Ideally a company would have an open source code base and very clear issues with tags. With this, any sufficiently good pull request would automatically get you the job (a pull request to an appropriately difficult issue).

I've always wondered what's stopping someone from creating a non-profit and just having people join it in order to give the non-profit ability to negotiate lower prices. I imagine there's a cost to set this up, but is that co

It may be true that JSON inherently doesn't have types, however unless your backend generates random JSON for your front end to consume, specifying types for the JSON that various endpoints return is extremely helpful.

Your premise is centered around tech companies wanting to shut these things down. Is that actually true?

100 banks to get $300M - $900M is still a lot better than a single exchange losing half a billion.

I was curious if anyone has done the real life equivalent of this. According to thrillistthe great bank heist (from a single bank) in history was like 70M. [1] Funny how an over a magnitude more money just goes missing. [1] https:/&#x

Sure, but my comment was supposing a hypothetical. Say you're a new state, Zion, and you have the two options available to you: 1) Simply let your employees invest in their own retirement via a 401k. 2) Pool everyone's money toget

Out of curiosity what's the difference between a public pension, where all funds are invested into a 401K like device, vs. each member in the group having their own 401K? I know that's not how Illinois' pension worked, but wo

I'm familiar with tax exemption - my question is more surrounding any benefits of the way they're organized. They, for example could just be a benefit corporation. I doubt this would be better as donations would no longer be tax e

To piggyback off this how does their corporate structure work? Mozilla Foundation, 501(c)(3) owns a for-profit wholly? What is the purpose or advantage of this organization?

Yeah, no. How can you claim we started off with nothing yet say over thousands of years we built things? Clearly we started off with something. You should be more precise in your language. If you change "nothing", with "no po

Nothing is being twisted. If what you mean is that two babies have the same amount of money in their bank accounts, then that's what you should say. Of course, if one said that they would be ignored as that much is obvious. What you sh

In no sense do people start off with nothing. People start off with the abilities or lack thereof possessed at birth. Compare a child with fetal alcohol syndrome with one without it. Do both start off with nothing? No. Clearly one has

You're missing the point. Saying everyone starts off with a blank slate is like saying everyone born starts off alive. It's a useless statement. The point is that the quality of life upon birth is different. Said qualities res

If you don't think the health of the fetus, and subsequently the child and adult has anything to do with poverty then I dunno what I tell ya.

Why isn't there a service that says: 1. Hey this is my route every morning. 2. Lets you see people's routes and "join". This doesn't need to be a centralized service. People could organize things among themselves.

The "fact" that everyone starts with nothing is obviously false. Even ignoring opportunity, the fetal health is highly dependent on the environment.

I recall taking an Uber once and hearing the driver mention that he wished he could remotely drive the car. Was this idea ever taken seriously? I'm sure latency and creating the actual interface would be big problems. [/digression
