Love these, but wish they weren't posted to Scribd. I'd rather pay $0.99 each than have to sign up for whatever that product is trying to sell me.

There is an ethical way to market products which relies on transparency to the audience and not tricking or repurposing leads for secondary purposes. Blocking more of these shady tactics makes it easier to do the right thing and requires yo

Public, but a very small separated section of a larger school district - only one grade school and one high school. So it is basically a public school that feels private. Having attended private school myself, I think the distinction you ar

At my kid's school the target is no phones until 8th grade. It seems many people adhere to the guidance, but that is only based on what we see casually, and we'll see how it looks over the next few years. Some 3rd/4th graders

There are plenty of apps or features that remain Windows exclusive. In Microsoft's office suite, things like PowerBI only offer Windows desktop apps. And even within apps like Powerpoint there are features that don't exist in the

As a user of them, it remains disappointing that you can’t really interact with them. I use a few (shopping list, world clock, random photos), but if there was more possible interaction than just ‘open the app’, there might be more creativ

I think the other element is a move from hardware to software. The zoom calls that replace the video phone booth are not just iPhones, but also conference rooms, computers, iPads. Smartphones bring all these solutions together, but the vari

I think this gets it exactly right. I’ve taken the deck on trips where I have room in the suitcase, but I wouldn’t take it on my daily commute. But most of all, I’m just with it on the couch. Even though there is also a nice big tv right in

If it was simply ‘self-driving’ there would seem to be more wiggle room, but the inclusion of ‘full’ to the claim makes a much more specific promise of the degree of autonomy drivers should expect. Adding more specific detailed language els

I don’t understand why this requires a California law to address? Why hasn’t the FTC intervened? A quick search reveals that it is ‘on their radar’ as of this past June, but as other commenters have pointed out, the claim has been used for

This article might be a bit hyperbolic, but I’m ready for some new challengers to Google, to say nothing of certain other giants. Search has become so compromised between SEO optimization and more and more actual human content stuck behind

A six month series of weekly sessions with a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist had a transformative impact in my life. He helped me see some of the actions I was doing more clearly and helped me develop the skills to change. In our sessions we

I don’t disagree with the points here, certainly have my own list of this category of pet peeve. One other peeve is “do better” as a linguistic device which we’ve see flourish in the last few years. To me, it consistently reads as arrogant

I think those needing to subscribe to the new Pantone service are more likely to be paying for the full cc suite, not the single app model. This is quite a bit less than that per month.

I love a matrix of red flashing dots, but did these serve a real purpose on machines like this? Feels quite obtuse as a means of delivering feedback. Especially since a machine like this could drive a comparatively information-dense CRT dis

Not for apps like Audible which (this is my guess based on personal experience) prevents you from doing anything if you seem to have connectivity but can’t get a real response. Offline mode is simply more stable, unless you need to sync sta

The window crack patters when you crash are forever burned into my mind. Which is to say I loved playing the '88 version when I was a kid, but I never quite mastered the subtle art of not crashing.

What I love about this article is that it is exactly the struggle a human commission-based artist goes through with a human patron. The patron says “I want a sculpture of a duck” and the artist shows a sketch of what he or she has in mind.

The 'to push 4k monitor sales' inclusion the title seems to not reflect the content of the article, which does not postulate a theory regarding Apple's intent. Apple doesn't even sell 4k monitors, so a more compelling ca
