Eesh, we've found a way to recreate default Powerpoint styles on web. Or is it The Sims 2? A small but important detail that is always off to me in these views is the use of white and black to create shadow and highlight. Real color os

There is a pretty broad spectrum here. Both of the examples you cite are clear cases of public health and regulation followed discovery of damage. There is no such danger or clear public safety case for batteries which is why it feels like

A dimension I dind't see mentioned in the article is the volume of production and changing dynamics in the VFX industry. Back in the 70s/80s/90/s there was dramatically less special effects-driven content being produced.

I think that happens to just about all Dramatic shows. Same for Mad Men, Breaking Bad and other popular shows. Without the scarcity of yore, we have a constant buffet of alternatives, so who has time to rewatch (or catch up). In contrast, T

Wow, that is the end of an era. In some ways it is sad to see a successful independent foundry get absorbed, but on the other hand, it sounds like he is ready for a break, and this sounds like a good outcome for those involved.

As a fan of Classical music and Apple Music (the service, if not the app), I am on board. I've trialed a number of the dedicated services, but could never justify the added cost. I feel like Spotify's focus is on being the app for

Like any other technique, leaving on a question can be a poor substitute for a more fitting ending, but when done properly it can reinforce a core theme within the work. I am not a huge Inception fan, but I do think the cut at the end is a

I remember when I got access to the Apple LaserWriter II at my dad’s work for the first time. Until then all I had access to had been dot matrix printers at school. As fun as folding springs from the side tabs was, this new printer opened s

There is no need for a partnership beyond the one that allows Facebook to be hosted in the App Store. I think the point is being ready on day one to take advantage of whatever Apple delivers in this space. Facebook switched from web-first t

Would “Small Pharma” have gotten us our COVID vaccines faster? I get the complaints, but so much of these actions feel like they don’t start with an understanding of the benefits large can bring.

I’ve been using Apple Maps since getting my first CapPlay compatible car. I switched because the Google Maps app was (and remains) awful to use. GM forces you to view a very small view of where you are going next. Multiple click to access t

Fully support this for myself, though I don't think I need my composed remains to be returned to the family. Not sure why, but that feels more grim than ashes on the mantle (though I don't feel a need for that either).

The issue is who gets to define 'hate' or any other limited category of speech. You might feel that Canada's limits are benevolent, but the existence of such laws codifies the avenue of their corruption. The risk is that such

I think that the narrative of last twenty years has been a re-blending of genre in a way that is not fully appreciated. While you can certainly find plenty of music that fits the mold established in the 60s, 80s or 90s around you also find

Apple Maps bookmarking is vastly superior to Google Maps (subtle ui, better list support). Apple Maps on CarPlay is pleasant, Google Maps is garish. Apple Maps biggest down for me is reliance on Yelp for business reviews.
