If it's time to shoot from the hip (or rather extrapolate), let's rebut a little bit. i) Human working population is shrinking, but robots are rising. Remember this person doesn't exist https://www.thispersondoes

Slack is a great product (vs email or public chat alternatives). I wish them the best expanding their user base. Are they worth 16B? None of the armchair investors here know their financials (addressable market size, user growth rate, expec

Updates/upgrades are justified. Using old style in new code, often, isn't.

Well said! Windows + associated app software, drivers, viruses back then used to be the biggest source of problems. Today I have none of that with Mac, iOS or Android. Having no reset for days or months is normal and expected.

As a broad response, let's just say not everything is perfect. These systems can be and are abused (by publishers, malicious actors). Yes, let's fix those. But let's not overlook why these things have become popular in the fi

The biggest benefit of social media over forums or email lists is ML-based ranking. You save a ton of time reading the most crucial, while skipping the rest. The platforms are addictive not because they're designed to be, but because t

Best solution proposed here! Put your money where your mouth is Taleb and Silver! Btw, I read 3 of Taleb's books, 1 from Nate Silver. Both are pretty good. Taleb is the more original, but also more often-objectionable.

Lol, first going to infinity, now going to zero. This is the typical overshoot/undershoot behavior. When everybody starts believing something is going to zero, it bounces back and vice versa.
