Or you just go with "arrays of 64 byte multiple atomic structures" and you get parallelism and cache!

I bought a 3050 low profile / half length with DDR6 at 14GHz for half this price. And it can play games too.

Correct me if I'm wrong but bitrot only affects spinning rust since NAND uses ECC? If you see this I wonder if S3 is planning on adding hardlinks?

What is VPC and how can they launch a cost feature for me without asking if I want to pay for it?

I recently discovered you cannot pass 75Hz over DVI -> HDMI -> DVI! For some reason the bandwidth is too low? So for 60Hz there is interop. but for 75Hz you need a thick DVI cable.

I'm perfectly prepared to do that as I did yesterday with Add Link Card BUT I need bluesky to SHOW the damn .gif and not have users have to click on a URL!!! It's a one second change.

.gif is better than video if you have a small area that changes on the picture frame by frame. .gif can handle transparency. .gif will never be obsolete. Also dithering is an aesthetic!

This is hair splitting at the end of progress: The fact that 3D skeletal animation is still using 4x4 matrices in the GPU means the math developed for this around Half-Life 1 (on CPU?) is still the bleeding edge. 1998 -> 2024 = 26 years!

Wrong prio: videos and animated .gif is 100% the ONLY thing anyone at that company should be spending ANY time on.

This is an empty article: - CAS latency? - Wattage? Also: https://piped.video/watch?v=2G4_RZo41Zw (is this memory same size as 5nm?)

You should never build your own billing system because you do not want to do the global VAT work. itch.io is a good alternative if you sell digital assets and even services as you can verify payments with mail.

Inverters have losses (~10%), you need 12v devices for this to work. PicoPSU is the way I solve this.

It's better to just build your own with a 12v charger, a few 12v lead acid deep discharge batteries in parallel and a 9-18v -> 12v aligner. If you live in EU go with 110-220v charger so your setup can outlive a brownout.

People don't get it: it's not AI that is valued high, it's the dollar that is worthless. If the US wants to win in Ukraine it needs to print like a mad man, look at the SPR; it tells you the truth (albeit with 3 months lag fo

The biggest thing missing from this is you have to build a brick house with a hammer and nails or a wooden house with mortar. The premise of micro-services where lost in complexity, the whole point always was "you should be able to sel

I'm going with hybrid: - 2011 X-25E 64GB (2W write and almost nothing read/idle) at 100.000 writes per bit for OS - 2021 PM897 3.7TB (2.3 Watt (read) ¦ 3 Watt (write) ¦ 1.4 Watt (idle) down from the PM983 (8.7 Watt (read) ¦ 10.6 W

You need to factor in usage, if you are idling a lot ARM > X86. And you need to look at longevity, there I suspect ARM will outlive X86 too. For modularity ARM > X86 too, because they are cheaper to have many small of. But for scalabi

Yes, but the cost in terms of watt and manufacturing are not scalable. Also most programs have cache-misses.

Above 64GB you need registered RAM increasing the latency. So as you increase bandwidth you reduce program speed. Higher frequency results in more heat. We are fast approaching the need for a Wii like Broadway architecture where the program
