I recently did a little survey of the top 2,000,000+ GitHub repositories and found (corrected) 28k listed a Discord, 4.3k a Slack, and 1.4k a Matrix chat room[0] This is one of the reasons I chose Matrix for a new game engine project I'

I'm a massive fan of your work on VLC, but I feel that's a bit of a mischaracterization.. The author of the issue spoke about his troubles with MinGW in four bullet points at the top that are not related to DirectX at all, whether

If you squint closely, you'll see my issue is not hairsplitting but rather a practical one about trouble with MinGW headers not being super up-to-date (missing DirectX 12 APIs, etc.) I'm a huge fan of MinGW-w64, though. I would be

(I'm one of the people from the thread) Although this issue has degraded into a conversation at this point, which is a bit unfortunate and honestly my fault, I feel it's important to mention that the main contributors here (myself

Wow, that's incredible! 12% gain in runtime perf of Postgres benchmarks is no joke Also check out the LLVM patch, it's got a C code example explaining what is going on: https://reviews.llvm.org/D113289

It's official[0] Amazon is sending out emails to Flex drivers informing them Flex is down and they'll be paid for scheduled blocks without deliveries. Apparently even some warehouses were ghost towns today without anyone sorting p

Check out the Amazon Flex Drivers subreddit[0], there are tons of people saying they were paid for the day of deliveries without delivering any packages and told to go home. [0] https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonFlexDriver

From what I understand (and I do not believe it, to be clear) the claim is that DAO's governance structure is codified in smart contracts as being "the will of all members" it is 'better' in the sense that there is

The employment contract point I made calls into question whether or not Amazon understands indie gamedevs, and by extension whether O3DE (as both software and a community) is developed for indie gamedevs. The game failures I highlighted cal

I don't disagree visuals may be better (where better is likely "more configurable" or "more performant" in specific cases), but in many ways your art team and shader team matters FAR more than the underlying engine

I would encourage anyone looking for an open source game engine to first consider Godot, Ogre3D, Panda3D, etc. Rebranded as "Open 3D" and backed by the linux foundation, O3DE appears to be little more than an open sourced version
