On Pop OS I just stuck with gnome-terminal, it was plenty good if not quite as slick as iterm2.

iTerm2 is a beauty, is there a closest equivalent on Linux? There seem to be 25 popular choices especially now with the GPU-accelerated ones. Tried a few of the classics like Termite and they all seemed painfully outdated and crappy compare

I am in the exact same boat, 2x scaling at 4k. I am young but I wear contacts that are not an exact perfect prescription due to the limitations of contacts. But people will swear up and down to me that there is no way I could possibly tell

We rolled a simple repository pattern library that fit over the SQLAlchemy Table API (no ORM objects, only tables). Actually writing the the tables was very freeing, no more separation and surprises in the translation between a single model

In addition to everything else already said, pipenv is mind-bogglingly slow and buggy. Like 30 minutes and a timeout error to install pyspark.

I have run into this exact problem. A many-to-many table had a business meaning, not just an "invisible" relationship. We wanted to put a model in front of it & add soft deletes and created-at/updated-at fields, at it was

The main thing I would wonder about is if there's a good auth plugin for FastAPI. I am not a huge fan of Django, but if you have already chosen Python, it is really hard to argue with having good, battle-tested auth system out of the b

I hated Go templating until I really dug into it and started loving how flexible and not-OOP it is. It makes me want to port it to Rust, since so many of the major Rust templating libraries are Jinja copies or Handlebars copies.

Digital Ocean Apps, you get free hosting for a couple static site, you just push to the selected branch. I use Hugo but they support a bunch of different types. Digital Ocean is also just super easy to use in general.

I am convinced (through experience) that overuse of the Django ORM (and Django REST Framework, which is tightly coupled to the ORM) is a pattern that leads to intractable ball-of-mud apps. There's so much stuff available for Django out
