At first glance, I think this measure makes a lot of sense - profits from mines mostly leave the country. That being said, I'd expect this will lead to a surge in illegal mining operations, which will likely be a lot more environmental

It can actually be a lot worse - entire countries will be held ransom when car networks gets compromised. Beyond disabling a countries transportation ability, a remote hacker could weaponize every car to attack passengers and pedestrians.

Sad to see things end this way - Yik Yak was pretty dope at Berkeley. However, I felt like the content got stale and predictable, and met the classic homogenous fate of every upvote/downvote community ever.

While the news makes sensationalist headlines and online outrage, sadly it doesn't seem like consumers care about Uber's behavior.

Regardless of the veracity of your allegations, this paper is a sound empirical analysis. It's a solid piece of research, and it's not surprising that folks from a competing blockchain would be the first to unveil real problems wi

Legality should be boolean - either you're following the law or you're not. If guilty, however, the penalty should be proportionate to the harm done. In this particular case, Uber is guilty of breaching Lyft ToS's clause arou

I don't see how this is nefarious, Uber is scraping data that Lyft is sharing publicly. And based on Lyft's response, my hunch is that they do the same thing. If anything, this story distracts us from legit nasty business practice

I can't tell if krona is trolling. We're exposing people to more insecticides in their diet when the plant itself produces insecticides! At least spraying puts insecticides on the outside of the plant, which is somewhat washable.
