I did much the same and ultimately came to the conclusions that: 1) The remaining consumer options are on the low to mediocre end of the spectrum and don't have great picture 2) The commercial options are more expensive with mediocre p

At least for the time being it's still possible to keep TVs off the internet and bypass this garbage. I've got a 2020 Sony and have never seen an ad on it. I'm expecting these days are numbered though; some combination of eth

Heck, I'm just impressed with it for acknowledging the family issue. Not sure why this is such a popular internet topic, but almost none of the treatments I've seen bother considering it. Any method that starts separating a parent

I'm not all that deep into the bikepacking/touring world (just some weekend rides) but it's not something I see referenced, however they have some pretty amazing storage and packing options that remind me of it: https:/

The one distinguishing feature (in theory) of digital twins is it is supposed to be such a hyper accurate model that it can be used to predict absolutely anything about the system in question. No changing of model setup, it's a "p

Is there a possibility sites just begin blocking Firefox? It's only ~8% of the desktop market share and ~4% across all devices. It doesn't seem inconceivable sites just give up supporting it if they're not getting the ad reve

On one hand I'm completely ok paying for a service like this, because it is worth it. On the other, I'm pretty angry about this change. I am so sick of services luring you in with a free tier, then changing the terms once they hav

I don't have any automotive experience but that largely squares with what I hear through the grapevine in the Auto industry. In the heavy machinery industry which Deere opporates it's mostly the opposite. Kubota, Agco, Bosch etc.

Maybe poor phrasing on my part, but that's the prevalent theory I've seen for how they do it today. Various other methods of EM leakage might have worked in the past (unproven as far as I know), but modern televisions are so muc

I believe the current theory is they simply look for light leakage. If they see a "flash - 200ms - flash - 400ms - flash - 350ms - flash" pattern leaking through your curtains precisely at the moment the same pattern occurs in a l
