There's no such thing as a big name startup. Like my friend says, if you have an HR department, you are no longer a startup. You have started. You are up.

There's a way to cover your competitors and this isn't it. This just comes off as juvenile. "They didn't buy us even though we make more money!"

Groupon smells like a ponzi scheme ? Fine. Careful, Groupon could turn out to be a ponzi scheme ? Great. Groupon is straight-up a ponzi scheme ? That's pushing it, and would raise any lawyer's eyebrow. The problem here isn't so much abou

This is a solid example of some old-school PR. I wouldn't recommend it to tech companies in general, though. In tech, it's a novelty that gets a few bonus points for being rare. But I think it can ultimately send the wrong message. The tech

I don't agree with GoDaddy's lowest common denominator branding strategy, but it seems to have served them well over the years. It's hard to argue with results. Make no mistake though, this is just as much a part of their branding strategy

Another big issue: Respect. If you don't respect the design process, or designers, don't ever expect to hire a good designer. If you've noticed that most designers are either not good, or flaky, chances are the problem is you and not the de

I have the same problem he had. Flux just doesn't work on my Ubuntu laptop. It seems to be able to preview correctly, it just never adjusts on its own like it's supposed to. Seems to be a common issue.

I agree with this in spirit, but it's important to realize that a pitch and a press kit aren't the same thing. Having these things on-hand is great, and on your site even better (perhaps in a /press or /media URL). However, turning a pitch,
