In Emacs, I found the restclient plugin quite useful. https://github.com/pashky/restclient.el I imagine other editors have similar plugins.

The appeal to arbitrariness goes both ways. If it's a minor choice, insisting it be changed is silly. "Get over it and move on" applies just as much to either. That people have feelings about a topic that's disproportion

The concept I'm reminded of is the related "meta-message". OP's site adjusts the register to something more polite. The confrontational statements are still confrontational when phrased more politely.

I wonder if it's just two different approaches to the world. In a transactional approach, I'm looking for the recipe; and just giving me the recipe (plus some useful tips for how to prepare the dish) is useful. "mommy blog&qu

I suspect the links or references to xkcd follow a power law, where a few comics get linked to all the time. Relatedly, I believe it's rare to see an xkcd linked to above 2000.

Yeah, maintainability is key. A lot of people like just managing playlists with a simple graphical console. This works fine if you just want a playlist now, but you risk things like forgetting why the songs were added to a playlist; or forg
