Well, it's not strange that he can't fit anything more in the device without taking something out. That's not evidence that there couldn't have been made room for something in the design stage though.

I remember once upon a time, about 20-ish years ago when Nokias where the thing to have. I had one of the smaller ones that came after 3110 (3210?) and was working extra as a bar-something one night. I had a big bucket that pour out deserte

Twice I've revived phones for others that fell (ha) for this unfortunate fate. Turn off immediately, disassemble as much as possible, rinse in clear water (tap for us, but it is not clorinated/flour), then dry in a bag of uncooked

The best hypothesis, IMHO from those I've read, to why Apple ditched the jack, was to get a share of the market for headphones - either through their own headphones (Apple-branded and Beats), or through MFI. In any case, now without th

This is in my opinion too weak of a signal to others. Such a deep invasion of user expectations and privacy should not be so easy to get away with, first time or not.

Pretty thin on details, apart on three advice. I like reading the upverter blog for this topic, they have some great articles on this (I have no affiliation).

Nice looking PCBA and assembly. I've been looking for small COTS circular screens for fun and it's actually quite hard, despite smart watch trends. I wonder what the Nest-branded ICs are.

Nest isn't compatible with heaters in my country, but I could see myself buying it just for having it as a wall clock with exchangeable watch faces. Really slick imo.

seeedstudio offers cheap 3d-printing, acrylic laser cutting too. Haven't tried them though, so can't judge on the quality, but they do have a good reputation, and it is cheap, so that might be worth a shot.

Don't be sad, there are plenty of opportunity still! And, there's much more easily found information and help :) A suggestion is to buy eg a MSP430 Launchpad ($10) or STM8 development board (<$1 on Aliexpress) and write simple

Perhaps GP is trying to say, that, in contrast to "just a blog", it's a blog with really good, technical content. This makes IMHO a great difference, since basically anyone can "just write a blog" with buzzwords bin

Do Comcast throttle torrents for you? Perhaps the traffic to rsync in some way looks like torrents to them. Or like spam/DOS or something like that. Or like a competitor. The things I've read about Comcast are not pretty, alas.
