I flew on the second floor of a 747. It felt posh for some reason. Also the flight was super smooth. I suppose its weight and sheer size helps with that.

Jobs that require creativity should allow for free time, to let inspiration come to you rather than try to summon it. I think programming is one of those jobs. And if you are always coding, always against a schedule, it's easy to burn

Loved reading this. About the triangle/cube screenshot, they were taken on Linux on a physical Mac OS computer? How were you able to deploy your driver, does the M1 GPU have a basic text/console mode allowing you to start and work

Celsius argued that depositors were actually lenders. I wonder if FTX will try the same angle. It's gonna be harder to justify because while Celsius was all about yield, FTX was a traditional exchange doing custody on behalf of its cli

In some states like NY, the money you make from writing/talking about your crimes go to the victims of your crime. That's why Inventing Anna (Netflix series inspired by true events) didn't make any money for the real (but not

Satoshi picked that model probably because it's easy to divide by 2 (x >> 2). He didn't want to prematurely optimize or overthink anything because it was a simple experiment and nobody could have predicted that Bitcoin will

I didn't understand the part where the program can have secrets (closed source), non-deterministic (e.g. invokes random) or async (pulls data outside the blockchain). If the program is closed source, you can't trust it, so you can

In theory it's possible to build such system. But dogfights are gonna be extremely rare in the future. The US Air Force believes more in stealth and beyond visual range (BVR) engagements. And so far, given the lead they have in those a

I get the joke but it's worth pointing out C# is actually memory safe and more flexible than Rust in that regard (with the downside of less control on GC).
