I use a custom selenium test runner that runs them in parallel (php). I plan on neatening it up and releasing it at some point if theres interest. It also has a 'live mode' which is useful for writing up new tests. It basically follows a fi

Very good point. I recently got bitten quite badly by having an external email parse api drop a whole lot of our support emails. I'm quite certain the error was on their side but theres no real way to prove it (besides log entries saying it

There definitely are tons of startups, but yeah you'll probably need to look around a bit. We're looking to hire a developer in South Africa (Cape Town): http://www.snapbill.com/jobs/developer If you're moving away from the US you'll see

I've been using a similar scheme but without a database. Just a bcrypt hash of my password using the website/systems name as a salt, and then formatted according to an alphanumeric alphabet with symbols. It also has support for sub password

I've always had the vision that the Windows hosting community were the more serious type of developer. Since they need to invest upfront in additional costs theirs likely funding involved and the 'hacker' attitude fits in less. I'm not sure

I wonder how much offering this actually costs them. There must be some serious file duplication between users especially if they're offering unlimited mp3 sharing, since many people will have the same MP3 files (they can profit off piracy

That solution worked well for Javascript, since it is impossible to remove the bad parts since they're embedded in older browsers. For a server side language I would imagine a better solution is taking the good parts of PHP and creating a n

I agree with most of the changes on your list, but to be honest (as I'm sure you're aware) what you're suggesting is not a viable solution. It would be far easier and more effective to simply create a new language based heavily on the good

The diff is at: http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&ol... PHP's assert function ridiculously runs eval() on the code too, so to use their backdoor they just include code as their HTTP_REFERER.

My question is if the multivariate testing is really necessary (at-least for smaller sites) ? With a big budget you can try a lot of designs and find the most effective one by a few percent -- but the changes they made were obviously going

I've been seriously considering purchasing 18000BTC as an investment. If bitcoins catch on in the next ten years, 18000 will be equal to 0.1% of the total available currency. Just wish I still had the money to do that (startup is busy diges

They way you've done it seems fine, although if you're trying to find minimums of such large arrays in javascript I'd assume you're doing something wrong. Javascript really isn't a great choice of language for big processing tasks; stuff li

I understand a fractional machine being wasted, but I'm a little confused as to the pricing. $10/hour => $10 x 24 x 30 = $7200/month? I understand its useful if your running thousands of instances but I don't see the value in it as a pu

I've always thought of setting up a programming language using unicode for a couple extra tokens (that would really assist with things like this). Could simply assign keyboard macro's for « and », and maybe one or two other useful tokens an

I don't believe that is valid C code; you can't assign a variable to a block.

I personally would be quite worried about it being used for prank calls. At the click of a couple buttons anyone can create a very awkward conversation between AT&T and a random stranger (or a friend).

I'm interested to know what you plan on doing for revenue. I'm sure the cost of the calls will quickly outweigh the $.70 you're getting out of the app store. Other than that its a great idea which I'm certain people would be willing to pay

You should probably include the ?callback= functionality anyway. A great deal of libraries assume it will be a get variable, and cater for it specially i.e. jQuery with http://jsonip.com/?callback= ?
