From an employers perspective, I believe there are many advantages: - 4 day week job listings get 15% more applications [1] - Staff will be more productive. Microsoft experimented with a 4-day work week and productivity jumped by 40% [2]

I'm not saying "change your entire process". All I'm saying is: If you are struggling to hire (good) developers, consider offering what the majority of them want , but few companies offer. The quality of candidate will

I agree with this for those trying to create their own business. I disagree for most salaried positions though - soft skills, politics and luck play a huge role

During lockdown I was feeling pretty burnt out myself which got me thinking: why are basically all jobs 9-5, 5 days per week? Why is there no variation on this model? It annoyed me so much that I decided to create https://4daywee

Upvote for mentioning a 4 day week - couldn't agree more It amazes me more companies don't offer this benefit (even for 20% salary cut) so much so that I just launched this: https://4dayweek.io/

Thanks :) It's still early days regarding the 4 day week but more and more companies are making the switch. Of those who have switched, almost all of them have had no salary drop (e.g. Buffer.com) but admittedly there are only a handfu

There's a happy medium imo. Output / value vs hours has diminishing returns over time and such: - 4 days != 80% output (it's more like 85%) - 3 days != 60% output (it's more like 70%) I may be biased though as I run ht
