Those are really the only questions which need SO though. If it would be clear how to ask or answer the person wouldn't need SO.

Sorry, that doesn't work. You would have had to run 10k every day for 100 days to burn 80.000 kcals, which according TFA only gets you 10kg of fat.

Berlin is prone to bike theft but a good lock and an insurance (less than 10% of the purchase price per year) helps to manage.

Lemmy needs a better experience for first time users. For instance, one should be forwarded to the front page of a random instance and see r/all type content (and given the ability to sign up).

Come on. This is just inefficient paternalism. We want kids to be able to have other kids to play with and professionals to look after them.

Just you understand how different cities can be if designed for high density. There are 25 day cares within 700m from my home, 3 supermarkets and 3 primary schools, 3 parks and the police station. Cars are greatly disadvantaged because of t

Why should the reforms be nullified by a change in saving rates? Hartz IV reforms pushed unemployed people back to work by reducing long term unemployment benefits to 400 EUR + rent. This certainly reduced purchasing power first (by reducin

It seems all evidence points to a Ukrainian op performed by a small team and minimal amounts of explosives. Ukraine is also the only country which had clear motive and no real repercussions if found out (because already at war with Russia).

A swapfiets isn't as shitty as a 100 EUR bike (which is used and shitty).

I mean there are the big brands incl. KTM, Decathlon (elops), Fischer, Bergamont, Cube, Haibike, Stevens... But the comparability requires you first to pick a type of bike.

You can get a cheap bike for 300 where every part except the frame fails within a year. Otherwise 500-700 is the low end for quality bikes.

My understanding was that it is an analog signal of current. The voltage of which spikes when the Neuron fires. The signal travels along the dendrites and may boost or deactivate other neurons.

Nice! How can you interface with Quest diagnostics like this? When you say that you are working to expand this to other locations what does this mean? Are you negotiating with other Quest labs? The test is not approved by the FDA so why can

If something is wrong with the car, the owner of the car gets the fine. The owner of the car is on file. If somebody uses the car on the owner's behalf and the fine is tied to the driver the fine must be forwarded by the owner to this

Certainly true. So lets expand the hazard triangle to Fat VS Teflon VS Acrylamide.

▲

I guess this is the main reason. I am not used to use a lot of fat while preparing food. Again this might be a balancing act of the negative effects of teflon consumption and consuming too much fat via oil.

I guess that it is due to the heat source (ceran cook top) and being used to using too little oil (with a teflon pan I use less than a teaspoon in most cases).

I understand that Teflon might be a hazard in pans but feel like it reduces the amount of burned food in contrast to steel/iron pans so much for me that I hope it is a net gain. (sorry in advance for all who want to suggest iron skille

The European solution is the right-before-left rule which means you always have to yield to cars coming from your right. In residential areas you never would have any signs because of this rule. You can speed through it if visibility is goo

Depends on the meaning of rule and violation I guess. I interpreted it as a sign posted at the entrance of the park. I interpreted violation as something that would be stopped by the park rangers.

▲

It is funny that you say so because for me the primary axis was about whether the rule was violated or not. This is why some people (including myself) chose that an ambulance driven into a park wouldn't be a violation of the rule.
