Well, it is just counting natural numbers and making up placeholders for whenever a subtraction or division wouldn't work out.

Upper left corner: "Block Vibes, Curated by Jay-Z" is probably the most silicon valley thing I've ever seen on a website. It's all going to crash horribly, isn't it?

Ineresting! The first line: "This demo requires a decent graphics card and up-to-date drivers." made me chuckle at the humbleness since I'm running this in Firefox on a 10 year old laptop. Buttery smooth (I'd say 60fps)

I'm sorry, but I can't connect the dots in that story. 1) He did great (like, there's actual metrics mentioned) 2) Others wanted a different direction (even though he did great?) and didn't tell him 3) They excluded him

But wouldn't this allow to decrypt any future patch data and see exactly what was changed, thus allowing to bypass it?

>Are consoles cheaper “per transistor” or sth? If so, why? Yes. Because of scale and optimization. But that's more of a side-effect than the real reason. It's mostly about having a device you can switch on and instantly play. N

What I don't get about the touch bar is: Why didn't they put it above the F-keys as an additional input? There's room there. Why remove the F-keys (and, even more insanely, the ESC key)? People were more upset about that than

I want this to be true but to be honest, I care less about the Ive angle than them simply doing it! It seems like someone with power said, "hey, what are these letters P, R and O standing for, again?".

Team SE! I miss absolutely zero features on it, which is bizarre for a pocket computer. What happened in these 5 years?

Recent advancements in AI made me wonder whether human intelligence is little more than a "stochastic parrot" with a large enough training set. If I dig down far enough, almost any knowledge could be learned and understood that wa

Microsoft‘s UX incompetence to market dominance ratio continues to baffle me. I’ve pretty much settled on blaming this on MS winning some race to first OS/Office software useable enough for mass adoption and just forcing all the rest s

And it puts the entire structure behind a giant blackbox. Yucky. As if fate tries to prove a point, I recently struggled with a random ass google docs document and just wanted to download and import to use in my own spreadsheet software. Th

I don't really get how trends like this one (and IMO that's just the tip of the ice berg – this is companies preparing for the inevitable legislation that will make most forms of tracking illegal within the next 10 years) don'

Feature counts are meaningless. There’s only like a dozen things in Photoshop you actually need. What counts is a smart, efficient UI with a good hierarchy and consistent arrangement. Gimp fails entirely at this, not any feature issues. I’d

Considering how niche it is, that's a super snappy and well designed site! EDIT: Just saw they had outages, but I guess nobody ever expected it to be trending on twitter. Works fine for me.

I find it interesting how hard it is to think of a question that truly cannot be answered by just reading lots of text. Stuff like "how can you carry water without a vessel?" (you freeze it!), which might stump a lot of AI model

I never believed in VR as a mainstream thing but AR keeps me curious. There's a Hololens demo on youtube that shows a bunch of virtual monitors of arbitrary size and shape floating around the user. That's potentially awesome. Thin

It always seemed like RAD makes the kinds of tools you want as a developer who likes to run its own core systems and license powerful components for key issues. To think these tools will now be locked into the bloated Unreal Engine makes me

What’s holding back VR (for 30 years, now) isn’t tech, it’s a lack of real use cases. Maybe AR for more of an office environment thing. But VR gaming is a niche, just conceptually.
