Time for the fines to start accumulating. I am all for making an example out of Apple. Monopolistic behavior needs to be punished.

Now we await for the app store because of DMA. Let’s see how obtuse Apple can be.

What I don’t understand is why do startups and other upcoming competitors not use this to their advantage? Google’s loss is your gain. If they are pushing DEI, won’t you as a startup then gain for hiring based on meritocracry?

Absolutely well said. I agree a 100%. If someone wants to be selfish, let him be, but don’t expect the rest of us to give much credence to his opinions since he very well doesn’t care about our society.

I find it hilarious how certain people on HN are so pro-corpo. You get a feeling like Apple is part of their family, not a monopolistic giant just needing one excuse to permaban you from their services.

I have zero doubt in my mind that Apple is in for a rude awakening. No way will the EU stand this level of malicious compliance. The gloves are off and I fully expect for Apple to not come out unscathed.

Apple must be crazy with their per install charge fee. I am impressed at how obtuse Apple is, and the level they are going to be petty. The hammer will only fall harder.

Hilarious argument, I cannot wait for Apple to open the walled garden this year. Especially for the feeling of vindication here on HN. A lot of people would basically go on you as vultures if you dared voice your opinion that Apple should

I do wonder what country will be the first one to ‘break’ and implement restrictions on buying homes. The current situation is not sustainable, and soon something will need to give.

You are absolutely correct in that way of thinking. What astounds me the number of people on HN who are saying that we are lazy and anti-capitalist with that way of thinking. The system is broken. The rich are getting richer and the average

I still don't understand why do Boards continue giving these kind of compensation levels for C level execs... Let's be honest, a 15 million compensation won't make a difference between 225 million.. It would be better to take

Love to see a title like this. Would love to be a fly inside the Google execs offices right now. I do wonder if they are confused, why are their factory workers, i.e. leet code solvers not able to innovate? I find this hilarious and positiv

Sorry to hear this, I do however wish to hear if this is finally going to put some pressure on the government to change some things? Already, I have friends in Europe who lived and visited SF and had some troublesome stories. I don't k

I just want to know why do people let the current status quo be in SF? I mean hearing cases like these makes you lean to the right even though you disagree with them, but when you look what the left is doing, you are left with no alternativ

What would you expect if it the person interviewing was a mobile developer, or backend developer? What should they put on the website? A mobile developer perhaps some screenshots of app screens? What about backend logic?

I actually noticed that started happening in Europe. Last month I had a similar experience, where a mobile startup wanted to hire me as a mobile developer, but wanted to test me, and the test was to implement a new feature and screen of the

I have to agree, the current job market is truly flipped upside down and you can feel the uncertainty in the air, at least in Europe. It seems there is a mismatch currently in the market, between what companies are demanding, and what emplo

That's a nice way to visualize it. To me the best way to check the market conditions is to check your LinkedIn inbox. The number of recrutiers spamming with job offers has gone way down. I even had a situation where the recruiter who w
