What happens if he says he doesn't remember his password anymore? ie: sits down, and seemingly tries to decrypt, but tries 1( or 50 times) and says "Oh shucks, I forgot"?

You saw a niche and exploited it. That's a good thing. Morality/ethics/blah blah is always based on local customs. As people were fine with doing this anyway, then there is no need to import/impose "American"

But we have been getting paid those ~numbers! Software engineer salaries are starting to have a strong bimodal distribution. Charitably, your statement could very well be true for those American developers who live in the lower end of compe

In terms of engineering problems, make sure you aren't making things more complicated than strictly necessary. Most software gets rewritten because constraints/requirements/teams change over time, in unexpected ways. YAGNI. A

This misses the point. The whole point of investing is that you are doing so based on potential. Regardless of what the current value is. In fact, the lower the current value is the better! The fact that the pendulum has swung too far d

Bingo. This is why, when leads mention a VC backed competitor, I say something like: They'll be gone when the money VC dries up. You can trust us to stay for the long haul because you are our boss.

Sort of off topic, but can confirm. I've had issues with GCP where site is down and it's taken 1+ days to hear back from someone. Maybe there was a way to escalate it, but it wasn't readily evident. Which tells you something.

I have no horse in the race, but this response feels a lot like you handling the situation vs actually caring about being unfair to developers. Once you do get the new version of the contract, I suggest you read it from a random developers

You probably thought I was the parent. Anyway, since it seems to be a sticking point with you, my wife and I are Americans, but I don't believe that Americans, by default, should get a job over immigrants[0]. So it's not everybod

Telling people they can "always return [back to where ever they are from]" is pretty offensive and counter-productive. They aren't here to make you happy, nor will they leave for that end. Taking the same tone: why don't

Don't assume whether my wife is an immigrant or not. Or, that her job is fungible enough to be so easily displaced. Anyway, my point was that the US as a whole benefits from immigrants. So, from a economic standpoint your comment doe

That's your prerogative and I understand the choice. However, the problem of how one can backup claims in an anonymous world is real. Maybe HN needs a third party who can verify claims privately (like reddit mods do).

How about a few links to these successful Saas apps you have built? Not that I believe you (or not), but your comments would have a lot more clout if you backed them with proof.

There are a lot of things to consider before you decide to have kids. It's definitely not a step to be taken lightly. Oooh! oooh! you should forward this to your parents with the comment "Good reason not to have kids".
