That is what I am saying. If I take a nap I will stay up a minimum 2 hours later. Not by choice, but by simply not being tired. I will say that before I got on CPAP I could nap and also go to bed at my normal time, but now that I have highe

Is staying up until 2am and having a disrupted sleep cycle good for your brain? Based on my own experience I would say not.

Terrible, racist, ageist attitude. Hiring people for some superficial attribute is just as bad as not hiring them. It’s dumb.

Some organizations have the opposite problem. The culture has a baked in assumption of things going sideways and taking forever. Under such circumstances there is a learned helplessness and unwillingness to even try that is soul crushing. I

The fact that this indistinguishable from satire is an incredible feat. Very well done.

I’m not giving up my Coke Zero. It’s an indulgence that I can live with long term. Unlike alcohol, donuts, pizza, and all the other shit that I enjoy but have to severely restrict.

I disagree. It’s another pathological behavior. In many of these cases you are taking your problem, something you have no use for, and turning it into someone else's problem. My wife and sister in law are terrible about this. Rather th

In a way I admire committed minimalists. But I often wonder what their long term lifestyle is like. Surely many of them are single (or they only count the items which are solely theirs). They surely rent at a higher rate than own property.

Therein is the kernel of every hoarder pathology, which is ironic. “This is too <whatever> to get rid of!” Wrong. Throw it away and don’t replace it.

Google and search in general is definitely worse than 10 years ago. It seems like I can’t find anything useful now. Years ago a few searches could turn up very arcane and niche data. Nowadays it’s like it never even existed.

It would be nice if all software were simple, elegant, and minimal. But I don’t know why we should expect it to be. The hardware that runs the software is complicated on a whole other level. You want and simple, elegant and minimal cpu? Vid

There are a lot of parallels with modern hardscape construction. Nowadays many builders grade the soil base, add a woven stabilization fabric, then add clean angular stone, and finish with a finer angular stone on top. I wonder if railroads

I still use dash 4. The newer versions removed the explorer tree and I don’t see any way to get it back. I feel like they make newer, worse versions, for the sake of selling upgrade licenses.
