I wasn’t expecting this much hate towards 1Password in the comments. I was using Google Passwords, then migrated to Apple, finally to 1P7 and now 1P8. It’s one of the best software I’ve ever used and I don’t know what I’d do without it. Sam

I agree. I get three meals a day in the office and great office benefits. I live 30 minutes away from the office. I’m glad we’re not fully WFH and I know we’re the majority in our company.

How much Xylitol? We need resident researchers of HN to help us analyze the paper. Or basically I’m hoping someone can tell me whether the paper is trustworthy or not so I can continue taking mints in peace.

Is the footage fast-forwarded? I'd imagine landing to be much slower. Also, is that how the moon looks, or is this some kind of night vision?

I think this applies to all genders. I don't know a single person who is happy using these apps. However, I'm curious about what other HNers think, especially women.

PFAS are everywhere, but my understanding was that not every PFAS substance is unsafe for humans. (Maybe it's just wishful thinking?)

So far, yes, but not intentionally. Any electromagnetic wave we emit becomes noise. We're still ants compared to what alien civilization can be theoretically. But this does not mean we'll always stay this way. I'm a supporter

My opinion is based on different theories and hypotheses, but the prevalent opinion is that there can't be a benevolent civilization in the first place. And even if there are, they would continue hiding themselves. Essentially, any ali

And how do you know you're forever isolated? There are things you don't know that you don't know. No rational species would ever build a monument IMO, and again, game theory supports this so far.

It's just the opposite, actually. Game theory reveals that the best thing an intelligent species can do is to hide. (The dark forest hypothesis)

White doesn't mean anything in Europe. It's very much an American concept that's only valid there. If you subdivide the "white" population in London by their culture, you'll see what I mean. Of course, if you m

I wonder why the EU is pushing Apple this hard, and not the other gatekeepers. For example, Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo consoles should now support an external store.

How are you certain? Chronic stress can be really harmful, but saying that it spreads cancer is a stretch that needs to be scientifically proven. Making mice artificially stressed isn't the way though.

Why are you including only US airlines for comparing a plane model's safety? That seems very convenient. And even worse you are using other planes data as well.

You seem to be misinformed. You don’t wake up vomiting out of nowhere. That is not how it works unless you are using sedatives. You’d be wide awake once your body wants to vomit and you’ll have plenty of time to remove that tape five times.
