I made it through the on-site only to hit the hiring freeze. It’s a well paying remote job even factoring in stock depreciation, moderately interesting work, and I’d happily spend zuck’s money on VR goggles no one needs until it all implode

All cops are bastards. A belief that the institution of policing as we’ve built it is completely broken, and can’t be fixed by better training or weeding out bad apples.

I'm not arguing that its small potatoes. It's a real issue and I agree it should be dealt with. My point is that despite what police union reps may say there is no law or policy, state or city, that prevents police for arresting s

The more apt comparison is that you hate doing code reviews because you think the process is too onerous so you simply stop submitting PRs. There's a few SFPD officers on /r/sanfrancisco. They didn't talk about Chesa all

I don’t remember the source but there was a linked article here a while ago about how to effectively manage “blockers” like this. The example given was a med device company where the engineers hated the regulatory department who always told

What am I remembering wrong? I never said anything about whether they scan images in iCloud. The proposal was to scan photos client side before upload and send a hash, and it was killed after backlash.

Apple was only going to scan images that were going to be uploaded to iCloud. It would be the same amount of coverage as what google does, and if you believe apples claims “more private” because it happens locally and would later let them r

Inventor is their closest solidworks equivalent. My understanding is that you can do 3D in AutoCAD but probably don't want to. The only thing I've personally seen it used for is factory layout.

A lot of the routing work is in the placement, setting up components to make the routing as trivial as possible, and the autorouter isn't doing that for you. I don't think it'll do pours either but I haven't used one in

That's equivalent to how I use Altium. Autorouter takes too much work to set up the design rules. I've never designed anything super dense though.
