...So now the Finns are joining NATO to participate in NATO war-crimes? I did once have to sit through a Finn slaughtering a karaoke version of "Sweet Caroline", but I would hardly consider it a war-crime.

Again, you are just deflecting, trying to distract from the core: The neighbours of Russia do not want to be invaded by Russia, so they join NATO.

Deflection. Neighbours of Russia want to join NATO to prevent Russia invading them. And for good reason. No "mysterious" CIA-manipulation needed.

NATO "expanded" when sovereign, democratic countries CHOSE to apply for NATO-membership, completely voluntarily, because they beleive it was and is the best deterrent for Russia to invade them. A lot of countries bordering Russia

Finland knows all about Russian/Soviet aggression and have had to build and maintain a strong military force for that reason. Plus, speaking as a fellow Nordic... The Finns are our brothers and sisters. Of course they are welcome.

UK has also made written guarantees to protect Finland (and Sweden) during the application process. In practical reality, if Russia were to attack Finland or Sweden now, the answer from NATO would be pretty much the same as if they were alr

The Russian delusions around WW2 are astonishing. They (USSR was Russian-lead) were literally allied with Nazi-Germany and agreed to split Europe with them. They executed 20000+ Polish people in Katyn alone.

If you want some more background rather than news, I recommed Gary Kasparov's book "Winter is coming". It is from 2015, but describes the process from the collapse of the Soviet Union and how Russia turned into effectively a

Two main reasons for European increase in military spending (in no particular order): 1. The latest Russian invasion was a wake-up call. Much bigger than in 2014, when Russia invaded Crimea and East Ukraine. Especially Germany and France ha

I still use Evernote for scanned documents (invoices, receipts, insurance papers etc etc), and have done so for ~10 years - because I can free-text search in scanned documents. During those years, Evernote has kept getting worse and worse,

Hindsight is 20-20, I know, but Russia was the worst choice there was as supplier. It was not nearly as obvious 15 years ago, as it is today, but all the signs were there. We (I include myself here) were just not listening closely enough to

Switching to LNG requires special infrastructure (harbours attached to the gas-network) - and there is not nearly enough of that in Germany right now, and it takes a long time to build. So even if Russian gas COULD be replaced by LNG tomorr

I do not understand how it is "colonization" that free people choose a more democratic, freedom- and market based route for their country - as opposed to an autocratic, Soviet-inspired style of rule. Large parts of Eastern Europe
