I am surprised GitHub project kanbans don’t get more attention. They are easy to setup, great for tracking activities and allow “threaded” discussions inside each issue. Why would you use Slack for your team if you have GitHub with this fr

I continue to be confused about AWS offerings other than their EC2 and data storage (S3/Redshift/Spectrum/Aurora) solutions which are undoubtedly amazing products. The thing with Workflow scheduling and orchestration is that

I started my team thanks to Alteryx but happily moved all to Python a year later. UIs are terrible for change management, versioning and documentation. Once you have a big-ish team doing data work UIs will become a significant drag on colla

What is the best practice to ship the compiled data to an rdbms from your platform? I am asking because you list data science in your use cases and most data from analytics jobs ends in a database eventually

It becomes technical debt if you are focusing on the app, but if you are focusing on the data Retool has very little impact on your debt. You should still be processing and managing data with sql or python version controlled on git. What Re

Alteryx files are xml files but the point is change management is hard to do. You need to compare each single element in the UI to understand what was changed between versions. It's a lot like Excel in that regard.

I was thinking 2 things could be better done with react: reactivity and server load due to more client requests to manage. Not sure what else. Server load is pretty high on Tableau too so not sure that’s a real problem.

How does duckdb compare to aws athena or spectrum? Both services offer sql directly on parquet files. I guess you would say duckdb is not distributed but if you create one on time when the user needs to run the sql on the parquet you’d be i

In big companies I just don’t see the point of Slack over MS Teams as they are quite similar and Teams is very low friction as it integrates with the rest of Office 365. Slack has better API and that’s great but what would be other serious
