Why is this repeatedly raised? This is only done like this for development purposes. It has been discussed for years at this point. Distros/users are encouraged to change these defaults and many do. Seems pretty clear cut and simple to

I main Firefox on all my platforms. I would prefer to use it wherever possible over any chromium browser. Sometimes I get forced to use a chromium based browser for specific sites. In those cases I use edge for Windows because it's bui

If you are concerned about privacy of chromium-based browsers, I don't think anything would beat just straight chromium. However, on my machines I just main firefox with edge as a backup. Mainly because edge is already pre-installed on

Why is it one or the other? Type errors also certainly occur. If you eliminate a class of errors by doing so, isn't that still less errors overall?

I don't think he is defending it, I think he is correctly rationalising that this is the effect of devs and users buying into Apple's walled Garden. This is what devs and users caused by supporting the Google Apple duopoly. You bo

Not just track you, some ISPs will simply redirect all UDP port 53 DNS packets to their own DNS anyway.

Just FYI just setting your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 may not do that much. Not only is DNS in plaintext, but some ISPs simply redirect all port 53 DNS requests to their own DNS. If you want privacy with your DNS, you should setup DoH using

People can host their own DoH server themselves. If I can setup DoH and a VPN over one weekend with a Raspberry Pi, then others can do it too. I am using DNSCryptProxy on a Pi and it fully supports DoH + eSNI even without cloudflare. Works

On firefox I just set dom.security.https_only_mode to true. There isn't really a need for an additional extension for me. The only cases where it becomes somewhat problematic for me is my router page and local jupyter notebooks. Both c
