The cost could be better, but keep in mind that this thing can drive 2x30 inch monitors. My latest and greatest macbook pro can't even do that smoothly. Actually, streaming 1080p Netflix on my 30 inch monitor makes the fan get pretty loud.

Is Dell lying when they say their desktops can play 1080p? They don't even have a screen at all! Playing 1080p is more a gpu/cpu performance thing. Chromeboxes can do 1080p on 2 monitors, which is quite a feat considering their hardware.

Sensationalist title, as usual. I don't see any evidence showing poor reviews. The only people who got it are people at IO anyway, so that's kind of a small sample. I'd say they delayed it so they could add more features before a real launc

This sounds like a "30 seconds of usage just to find reasons to bash another G+ product" type of review. The Zagat rating system is pretty clearly described when you choose a category, and it's also shown if you hover the score. Also, are y

Yea, I agree that his blogpost was more colorful, but his emails to the company seemed totally fine. He's basically just asking them for more or less a favor that they are not obliged to honor (like you pointed out), but is all this really

The engineer communicated very professionally too. Just because you don't HAVE to not be an asshole, doesn't mean you SHOULD be an asshole. I agree with the engineer here since really this is something they promised at least informally and

I hate the fact that you can open .doc files with many editors. When sending them around, there's always someone who opens and edits an OpenOffice file in Word or vice-versa which ends up messing up the file in some subtle and unfixable way

Has anyone actually gotta their gmail account locked for a non-malicious reason? I can understand your AdSense account or G+ account locked because those have some various more strict rules, but I've never heard of anyone getting their gmai

What's wrong about ranting about it? If it's interesting and useful, people can learn from it and not make the same mistakes? I don't think you should have to leave amicably if you felt like you weren't treated well, otherwise every company

Interesting. However, I always thought that custom search engines were more profitable if they weren't hosted online. Big companies (hence big $) would definitely not trust you with all of their data just so you could search it up for them.

1) Yes 2) I think what you mean is the ability to grab the file without logging in from somewhere, and since you can currently do that from Google Docs right now, then it's most likely to be possible as well. Maybe you also mean to have can

Well, did Box.net "rock the boat" by offering 50gb of storage for free? That's much more than any competitor, and frankly IMO most people would prefer Dropbox despite it's much smaller size for free users. There are many ways to rock a boat

Now we know why Microsoft/MSN doesn't have a true "off the record" feature. They want to be able to monitor your conversations and censor you like this.

Sometimes, I feel like these websites should probably just have a "do not track" setting. That should appease all these pitchforks. In the end, I'm pretty convinced that tracking is really to make your life better since Google offers to del

I'm a software engineer, and it took me a good 10 minutes to find the damn setting. I haven't used IE in a few years but had to fire it up to so some UI testing. Gosh this definitely screams monopoly abuse to me.

You should propose a workable solution before making statements like "Google seems to favor the troll". How would you solve this problem given that manually removing the results are probably out the question for legal reasons?

It's not personalized to the point where you get completely different results for each person. The only thing is the order might be slightly different, and you might get local results now.

This. I don't know why people are not more bothered by this. Isn't this an indirect way for Microsoft to push their monopoly? A lot of apps won't work in the tile interface, which will be the DEFAULT, so unsuspecting people are tricked into

You missed pointing out the huge ad at the top telling you to "Get Hotmail on your Smartphone" in your picture. I mean, this is what like 10%-15% of your screen devoted to ads in hotmail? It's like we're back in 1998.

I'm usually a defender of how Google does things, but yea adding this indirection URL is something that has bothered me for quite some time. To me, it's just really sloppy code to be tracking things like this.
